Overpriced - terrible condition
Greens are 100% dead and have major scabs on them. The price should have been less than 1/2 what it was. Concessions were grossly overpriced too.
Playing Golf on Concrete with pot holes and Green painted Asphalt.
Worst course I’ve played in a very long time, the greens were not green, looked like pictures of the moon from Artemis II, probably should call them browns, they were harder than a concrete driveway with pot holes and sand holes. Fairways were not that much different, couldn’t even get a dollar divot with regular iron shots, they were just as hard. Felt like they painted asphalt a light green and thought that would hide the terrible conditions of the fairways. Reserved this tee time on GolfNow for $49 a player (note the reservation never said “walking” rate) only to have them up the price to $75 with a cart. Wasn’t happy with the bait and switch, but what else can you do when you have already dedicated the time to play 18. Not a course I would want to play again at the price they are charging. It’s not even worth the original $49 I reserved it for. I’ve played Muni courses 10 times better than this one for way less.
Overall, it is a decent course layout and could be a really great golf course, but whoever the owners are, it’s obvious they seem only interested in overcharging players and not investing in the course to make it playable. I see why allot of good golfers avoid this course now. I was warned by several of my peers that it this was a terrible golf course, but I tried to give this course the benefit of doubt and was severely disappointed.
Not worth it
Significantly too much money for this course. Greens are rock hard and in terrible shape. Fairways were dry and hard which is good for rollout but nothing else. Holes are super close to one another it seems like so keep your head on a swivel. Tire marks around the greens. Overall, just needs a lot of work to get to good shape.
Greens need TLC
I do not know what it is about this course, but they CANNOT keep their greens alive! Once again, on multiple greens, there were sand bunkers in the middle of the greens from large amounts of dead grass. This course would be SO FUN if only the course could keep their greens alive! We need to create a show called Golf Course Rescue to help save their greens!
There are better options
This course definitely thinks it’s a lot fancier than it actually is—should be priced somewhere in the $35–$45 “let’s not get carried away” range. The front 9 felt like a scavenger hunt… even with a GPS app we weren’t sure if we were on the right hole or accidentally trespassing. Layout could use a little less mystery and a little more direction.
Staff was… there. Not rude, not memorable—kind of like a background character in a movie. The food, though, surprisingly solid—probably the highlight of the day.
Bring plenty of cheap balls unless you enjoy making donations to the local wildlife.
All that said, still better than getting dragged around a store for 3 hours—so it’s got that going for it. 😄
Not season ready yet
I've been to SCGC a bunch of times. They've clearly been busy cleaning up after the winter ice storms. Lots of trees taken out around the course. All the Bermuda was still dormant this day (Mar 2026). The greens were in very very rough shape, dry in fact. The fringe had recently been sprayed. Groundskeepers told me they're replacing the grass on the greens this year. I look forward to the new changes.
All said, it was still a great Thursday out in Mar with 85F and blustery.
Course conditions
Was very disappointed in the conditions of the greens, you can see there doing some work to improve them for the future, they need some time to get them in shape.
Course was not n good shape at all no grass to hit n fairways so hard it hurt your hand when ya did. Greens bad could not even putt in the practice green for all the spots of sand n greens in the course not much better. We both played 8 holes when I had Paid for 2 rounds of 18 I’m gonna say the worse course out of all the ones I’ve played on the app.
The Course
Yes, it’s March , dormant grass , conditions not at there peak for golf , but you can see the tint of green in the turf , Yet if you weather fall winter spring or summer you will never find a course more challenging for all level of golf .
Saddle Creek is amazing beyond its challenges it is a course that makes you feel like family and brings golf more into perspective of what truly is meant to be bring friends closer and golf more competitive
Great value
Easy to get tee times, great people great course. It's become a home course for my nephew and I.
Enjoy it every time we play!
Totally enjoyed playing this course. It would have been better if the grounds weren’t wet from the rain
Re- visited
Been here a bit...... wet and a bit cold, and the course seems to be undergoing significant upgrades.
Like it alot, and always friendly.
PS, don't fade or slice on #1, otherwise you have to find your white ball amidst the diving range.
Poor Quality
Greens are ridiculously bad and price should be equated for in this.
