Nice Mountaintop Course
Played this course over a few months while in St J for healthcare job. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The course suffered I. The early summer from rain, but then recovered well. The course layout is challenging, but still fun.
Fun mountain top course
Have played the course several times over the last couple months. The flooding and rain in July washed much of the cart paths out. They have worked hard to get the course back in shape. The fairways and greens are looking much better here in September. The course layout can be challenging with a few blind shots to the green. Nice staff and manager.
Wow
This course is unplayable. Hopefully the owners sell.
Amazing Layout
Purse has a terrific layout and great Burmese of the surrounding mountains. Conditions were very poor as has previously been mentioned.
If conditions improve a must play.
Just Awful
The course is in dreadful shape. I stopped keeping score on the second hole as the greens were unplayable. The wayfinding signage is either poor or nonexistent. I got lost twice. They should stop taking people’s money and work on course maintenance instead of making excuses. Waste of an afternoon.
Unfortunately, very poor course
I really hate writing bad reviews but I wouldn’t want anyone else to drive over an hour & pay $59 for this course. I might would pay $15 to play it with a cart. It’s in very very poor condition.
Course is bad
This course is really bad. It’s pretty clear the owners don’t know how to maintain a golf course.
Sad!
Played on Saturday 9/30/23 on one of the nicest fall days you could ask for. The only problem was the course was in absolutely horrible condition. Tee boxes were not mowed, or in some cases just dirt. Lots of damage and dead spots on the greens and they were shaggy and slow. Horrendous varmint damage on the fairways, skunks and/or crows digging for grubs with huge areas on many holes absolutely tore up. This has always been one of the most enjoyable, challenging courses for me to play and it’s only 45 minutes from my home. Sadly, I will not go back until they fix their issues. $65 to play in those conditions is just not acceptable to me!
Poor conditions
Played this course yesterday, 9/6/23. Conditions were terrible. There was no grass on many of the tee boxes. You were teeing off on dirt. Unacceptable. Fairways had a lot of bare spots. Shouldn't have any bare spots this year with all the rain we've gotten. The greens were almost impossible to putt on. Missed a lot of short putts, because the greens were so bad. Played this course many years ago, and it was a nice course to play. Will not be playing there again. Would drive the extra miles north to play Orleans or Newport. Much better courses.
Fun Challenge
If you plan on walking this course, be sure to bring lots of water with you. The course has lots of steep slopes to go up and down. It can feel more like a hike than a round of golf. But super fun. I'll be going back once I improve my game a bit more.
Fun, but tough
Hard course if you walk. It's a very steep course. But a lot of fun. I would not skip out on a cart rental next time.
Rough Conditions
When we played, the course was full of puddles and mud due to much recent rain. There was no drinking water on the course and bathrooms were not available. Also they did not provide information about the extra charge for the cart on Golf Now website. NOT worth the $$
Fun day
Great challenging course! A lot of blind hits due to hitting uphill on many holes. Also had to pay for your cart fee; it was not included in the price you pay on the app.
