Enjoyed This Course
Wife and I played here while vacationing in the area. Really enjoyed this track. Great layout. Excellent conditions. Friendly staff. Beautiful place. A couple of quirky holes - especially when you haven't been there before and don't know where you're going. Better to play with someone who knows their way around. As always, I wish the range had real grass instead of mats, but other than that, no complaints.
Excellent Course for the Money.
Whidby Golf Clup is semi private course, and for the most part, is built and maintained at a level consistent with a private golf club. The layout, coupled with the design an adaquate hazards make this course challenging and yet fair. The. only negative I noted was the somewhat outdated and poor practice areas, especially the driving range. That said, this is still an above average place to enjoy golf.
Great course
Fantastic. Course! A nice change from the soggy Seattle courses. Course dries out fast and is a great value!
Fun NW Golf
Well worth it ... Fun layout ... Nice greens ... Plush beautiful course
Country club review
was told by club staff via phone before booking that greens had been punched a week prev. to my play date, were on the slow side but rolled true, they actually did not roll true and were so slow the ball may as well have rolled backwards at times, the rest. and bar are closed on Mon. & Tue. come to find out and, yuppers, you guessed it I played on Mon. in spite of the items listed we still had a good round the weather was perfect and I hit the ball straight and far :)
excellent winter golf
it only took a few days of dry weather to make Whidbey a joy to play in Feb!! Give it a try!
Excellent Value, Quality Course
Whidbey G.C. is a bargain in any season. We've been playing there for 30 years and still enjoy most rounds - not enjoyable rounds can be put on my erratic golf! Greens are excellent most of the year and the layout is never boring. Lots of water and well maintained fairways also add to the fun. If you're headed for Whidbey, take your sticks, grab a tee time from GolfNow and give it a try. You won't regret it.
Nice course
Course is narrow but beautiful. Nice day, and a great deal. Got a cart and practice ball for a great price.
Greens were well kept. Housing projects next to some greens. Listen for anything breaking, when ball hit OB.
Great course, great staff, great value
Played this course in middle of winter and the conditions were extremely good considering how wet every other Course I played recently have been. Great layout with challenging greens. Would absolutely play this course again. Memberships are a great value as well.
Is aeration really a four letter word?
Freshly punched and sanded greens aren't all that bad when you're play one of GolfNow's Hot Deals. If the weather's good and you get to go out by yourself and play a two-ball best ball, how could there be anything to complain about?
Excellent greens
The greens were in great shape, but the fairways were hard. It was difficult to hit proper shots at times. Some blind drives led to some interesting approach shots.
Very nice greens
Play was painfully slow, even for a Sunday afternoon. Greens are very nice, fast and true. Fairways are hard and you get lots of roll and some terrible bounces. This course has a lot of target golf holes you have to land in for your next sho . Frustrating if you don't know the course well. Could use a lot more yardage info on each hole
Whidbey GC is a little gem
Whidbey GC is a nice challenge. It has strategically placed water and mature trees to make shot placement and accuracy important. Having GPS via GolfLogix helped me navigate around the holes. Light to moderate breezes add. Nice driving range.
I'd play it again.
Think it through
Lots of risk reward. Smart plays from the tee can be rewarded with less trouble coming into play.
Played the Championship Tees
Amazing course in amazing conditions. In the dry of the summer the course is still lush and green. Fairways are in great shape. Big greens with some challenging undulations.
Tips were long for me off the Tee but still played 3 strokes under my handicap. Played with a local. Course knowledge is a big plus.
One of the best courses I have ever played. Definitely the top course in northwest.
Great staff and nice course design
I just loved everything about the course and the facilities
A nice round
Whidbey is a moderately challenging course that is interesting but not spectacular. Grass burned out in a few spots due to warm early summer.
Greens are quite fast but hold a well-struck shot and putt true.
Pace of play was very good - under 4 hours.
Very nice layout and conditioning
Pretty course in the sunshine belt. Used to be even nicer before developments sprung up on the entire perimeter. Great greens, some contours but putts very true. Lots of willow trees but reasonably wide fairways lessen the [golf!] ball grabbing impacts. Plenty of water to keep you honest. Very reasonable green fees make it a must play if visiting Whidbey Island.
Terrific!
A great day was had by all. The weather was wonderful. The course has new carts and tee markers and provided water with the heat.
I highly recommend playing Whidbey Golf Club!
