Fast Round at Foster Links
Played a quick 18 at Foster Golf Links. Overall course conditions were good -- a few standing poodles and muddy areas on the course. Cart parth only for the round. Don''t like hitting off mats on the Par 3s. Looked like the onsite restaurant (formerly Billy Baroo's) was closed for renovations and may re-open under a new name. Rained while I played the back nine but the course held up nicely while I finished my round.
Quick round.
2 guys I played with quit after 9. Rained about half the round but pace was still fast. Finished in 3 hours 10 minutes. Probably my fastest round ever here.
Foster Golf Links
First round of the year, the course was soggy, but well maintained. They did have a pair of towels in each card and they were useful to keep the golf balls clean. Shot my lowest round ever so it was quite enjoyable for me.
F$&@#?G MATS
Hitting off mats on par threes is the worst. Why, I currently know no other courses using mats!!! if you’re forced to use mats, why not have the mats be in great shape on a level surface. The mat on the 11th hole is the worst of the worst. The location is terrible. The mat is terrible. It’s not even level.
Would I recommend foster to a friend ? Yes with a number of caveats.
Great course
Great local course, often busy, warden stays active in making sure folks keep at a good pace. Fun course good people
Wet but fun
First few holes were a bit wet while it was raining, cups were full of water and the greens were a pool. After it stopped raining it dried out pretty quick and the last 13 holes were super fun. Almost nobody there and could listen to music pretty loud and take breaks to eat.
They’re going in a strict instead of laid back direction
it used to be a bargain with staff that were friendly and reasonable, particularly during the last hour that you could play now they are rigid, charging for all holes, no matter what they even put a gate in the entrance for the whole course eventually and now they close the other gate for the parking lot before it’s completely dark considering it’s just a glorified executive course should be a little bit more humble when it comes to playing and Customer treatment
Great Fast Round
I had an early Tee time , we walked the course in 3.5 hours. Staff was great at check in and called us to the 1st tee a little early.
Foster Golf Links
Course was in great condition considering that it rained the previous day. Lucked out and had dry weather for our round. It was a fun round of golf.
Great value. Good course.
Foster links is a very well-maintained course with friendly staff and a very attentive beer cart presents! It’s considered an easier course, but it definitely has some challenging holes and overall is beautiful! If you play during the salmon run season, you can see the salmon, jumping all throughout The green river, which runs through the course! Highly recommend playing this course. The only thing I would change is that I don’t believe it is good business to charge extra for two people to ride in a cart.
Good day for golf
Played two days in a row. Pace of play by far the most impressive. Good crowd friendly marshalls. Overall a good day.
Awesome value
Awesome value for the cost ~$54 for green fee and a rented a push cart.
Layout is short, but fun and challenging. I'd say great for a beginner/intermediate golfer. Limited water holes, and missed fairway shots just go into another fairway or a simple punch out.
Greens were rolling well, and tee boxes were in mostly good shape.
This course gets a lot of traffic. From the 1st tee, we waited a minimum of a couple minutes before teeing off. They seem to book a lot of rounds.
That said, I teed off at 125, and finished around 525. A solid 4 hour round even with all the waiting. So pace of play feels kind of rough with waiting on every tee, but the course is short, and you'll get through it around 4 hours.
Lots of fun and unique holes. I will return.
Fun day
Great time always when playing with friends, only comment is that the cart might need a tune up…it kept stalling when starting to move
Great confidence boost
Short course that’s in great shape.
Pace of place can be slow sometimes but course is in good shape and you can shoot low
