Oaks at Edgewood Golf Course

About
Edgewood in Big Bend boasts two different 18-hole courses, the Oaks and the Pines. There is something for everyone no matter what skill level you are since the more challenging Oaks Course is perfectly complemented by the more forgiving Pines Course. The Oaks is routed through a diverse landscape of rolling hills covered with mature forests and lakes. It also winds alongside the Fox River. Water hazards come into play and there are also strategically placed bunkers to contend with. Tremendous emphasis is placed on accuracy on this golf course, but it is not too punishing if your shots are slightly errant. The course stretches to 6,800 yards from the back tees. A cart will be required on this golf course but the flatter, shorter Pines Course is much more walker friendly.

Great course
This course was very challenging from the narrow fairways to the fast sloping greens. Course has great views and wildlife. There was a good amount of water on the course and every hole was different. It was nice how the front and back nine were separate for a little change of scenery and different challenging holes.
great layout, fairways alittle rough, greens fantastic.
Some very interesting and challenging holes. The fairways were a little beat up, but the greens were fabulous.
Tricky layout in places
I have played there before. I like the back nine best. Some holes are tricky. the course is a good test of shot selection and and your ability to execute the shot. I will play it again
Good course with nice variety
It was November, so the ball washers were put away, but the course was in fine shape for that time of year. If only my game had been in as good shape. Still, anytime you can get out and golf in short sleeves in November, it's a good day.
Poor conditions on the course
This course was not in very good condition. Many bare ground patches in the fairways. Repaired areas in the rough that were never finished etc. We were very disappointed in the conditions.
must take a cart
Front nine needs improvement in the condition of the fairways. Back nine was GREAT!! A good test and a lot of fun and challenging!!!!
Conditioning
Our three-some all felt that the front nine was in the worst condition we have ever seen it. Besides the poorly maintained tee boxes, and many of the fairways, the fairway on number six was like riding on a washboard. The back nine was maintained much better and a huge improvement. Most staff very friendly with one exception (name unknown). In close to ten years of playing there, I have never seen him smile.
