Pine Hills Golf Course

About
Pine Hills Golf Course is a championship course that was carefully carved from the beautiful North Woods located 30 minutes northwest of Shawano. The abundance of mature trees is the layout's defining characteristic. They shape the doglegs and line the fairways, making accuracy a necessity. There is also a surprising amount of elevation changes throughout that make the course even more challenging. The occasional water hazard comes into play but they do not pose a serious threat. Good course management is key but overall it is a playable round no matter what your skill level though it doesn't hurt to warm up on the club's driving range or putting green. Pine Hills G.C. location nestled within the forest may explain why it is still one of the best-kept secrets in central Wisconsin.

Coarse was in fair shape. Conditions were dry and greens were just coming out of winter conditions. Rough was too long and should have been cut. Front nine holes changed from last year but they never communicated the change at the club house prior to golfing. Maybe by fall the coarse will be back to where it once was.
This course has poor conditions
The tee boxes fairways and greens all had bare areas and the fairways also seemed to have “burned out” areas as if it had just been through a hot dry August yet it was only May.
Muh
Course wasn’t in as good of condition as it was earlier in the year. They were plugging the greens on the front nine so had to play the back nine twice. That was OK but they let other groups out and had to wait 30 between nines. Second trip around was really slow
Just DEW it
We have played this course numerous times and consider it a hidden gem. However this time upon arrival we were told the front 9 was closed so we would have to play the back 9 twice. Since I booked online there was no way for me to know this ahead of time. We can deal with that. However the greens had not been mowed or cleared of the morning dew and it was thick. I don't know if it was because grounds crew were working in the front 9 but it made for very difficult putting and quite frankly not fun. The dew was still on the greens to some extent when we finished our round at noon.
Great Course. Could use some spraying though
Great course in great shape. Love the up and down hills and narrow fairways. My only complaint was the bugs. As the afternoon wore on, the bugs kept getting worse. I would recommend bringing lots of bug repellent.
Wonderful
Love this course play there every chance we get. Friendly staff..beautiful views.
Fun course
Pine Hills was a fun course. The layout had a lot of character. Important to play smart and not just bomb away. I wish the greens were mowed that morning and for a Sunday it is unusual for them not to be. The other thing is there were a significant amount of horse flies. Definitely wish I had repellent. Overall it was a 4 out of 5.
The staff was great! Course not so much.
Put token for range in machine and one ball came out. That should have been a clue to just go home, but...
Cart was filthy, holes are dog-legged so they can fit into as small a space as possible, greens were in terrible shape, 16 pins were short-sided off the front (and not 15 paces, either). Every flag stick literally leaned and every green was pocked marked with hundreds of past ball marks and dead areas. More weeds than grass, more hard pan than anything. The bunkers were pretty good, though, and I was in a lot of them. No high lips or variety but that was the least of their problems. Can't imagine making a return trip.
Needs work
Course could use some maintenance. Rough tee boxes and greens need some TLC.
Course in poor condition
The back nine fairways were a mess. Greens were in very poor shape.
