Sand Springs Golf Course

About
Sand Springs Country Club was founded on the same passion that sears the soul of those who play this ancient and wonderful game. The meticulously maintained public par 72 course stretches over 6613 yards. Multiple tee boxes are in place to fairly challenge the skills of all golfers. Bent grass greens tees and fairways are the ultimate playing surface and contribute aesthetically with subtle shading between fairways greens and rough.

Tight but fun to play
Very nice bent grass layout with challenging approaches. Always love this course.
Sand Springs
This course is in good shape for this time of the year. The course has very narrow fairways that make it a challenge for longer hitters, especially on the front line. The back nine is more open gives you the opportunities to hit the ball. Overall, the course is more suited for your older demographic.
Nice course layout
Some tee boxes are in dire need of help
Lots of construction
Course had recently received a lot of rain and was very wet! Greens were decent. Felt like I was in a construction zone most of the round. Lots of building going on. Roads and paths torn up. Construction fencing up in many areas. Not really the golf course that I expected. Seems like it’s being snuffed out by the building of houses all around it.
Fun course with some quirky holes
We had a good time albeit a bit of a slow round. There was a good amount of ground under repair, and the tee boxes were not in the best shape. The course itself was fun and interesting.
Fairways.
fairways were very hard not a lot of grass. Course had some water problems on the greens, staff was trying to fix. Sprinklers running at the greens for some reason . Some greens were very nice some not so much. Staff at the club house bar were very nice stayed and had the lunch special which was very good. Some members were also there and were very nice to have conversation with. I drove about an hour to this course, just wish the fairways were better is all.
Greens are back and better than ever!
Aeration in early April seems to be a gamble that worked out in their favor. It is barely noticeable at this point and the greens were rolling true but not overly fast. Tee boxes are not perfect but are plenty playable. The big shocker was the construction of new homes on the front 9. If you can catch a hot deal it is totally worth it. $49 on the weekend is average and brings other options into play.
Sand Springs
I know it is early in the season but the course was in terrible condition. The tee boxes were bare, hardly any grass on them. The fairways were even worse than that. I had to move my ball to the nearest tuft of grass so I wasn't hitting off of bare rocky ground. The sand traps looked like they haven't been raked all year and several of them were filled with stones, leaves and twigs. The greens had been recently aerated and were hairy and sooo slooow! I won't be playing there again!
Dried out and slow play
I have played this course before and have not found in such dry conditions fairways were browned out. Not a lot of grass on the tees. No ranger to speak of. Had an 11:45 tee time did not tee of until 12:30. 4 foursomes stacked on the first tee. Stuck behind 2 slow twosomes. I don’t know if I’ll play this course again.
Very cold but it was nice.
It was a good time playing golf in this course. No one was playing whole courses except me and my wife. I felt like I owned the property. Anyhow so chilly day we played all around and it was snowing some moment. I’ve never gotten that experience before. Shapes of courses were very beautiful and challenging for all levels of player. Definitely I’ll come back more warm day.
Great Course
The course was in great shape for late October. Leaves blown off fairways and greens in excellent condition. People were great.
Great shape.
