The beauty of the natural terrain and the way Jones fit the golf course into it is truly spectacular. Situated alongside the Santa Cruz River, the course meanders into the surrounding hillsides where the sunlight casts mystical purple and yellow shadows in the late afternoon. Holes 5 to 8 are considered one of the finest four hole stretches in the state, ending with the 439 yard No. 8. Teeing off from high on the hill, the fairway drops off twice before your long approach shot settles onto a green framed by a reed filled pond to the right and a gaping bunker to the left.

Needs attention , but they are trying.
Greens are cob by, but fairways good, Carts are new and the layout challenging.
Great layout and plenty of length from long tees as a former PGA Qualifying course.
Tee boxes and fairways in good shape, but the grass cover is still a bit thin. Greens are still a little rough, but much improved over three weeks ago. The bunkers are also much improved. The new management is pouring money into the course and facilities, and water on the grass. There are workers everywhere actively making improvements ... and it shows on the course. This course has a really good layout, and can be very challenging depending on which tees are played. Pricing right now is very attractive, and the operators are very happy to have you come and play.
The rebuilding of the course is going very well.
The course is much better than it was a month ago. Very good rate to play made it one of the best values in Southern Arizona golf.
Low cost round on a course under massive improvement project.
The course is far from pristine right now but it is clear there is a lot of work in progress. When the new management gets the repairs and improvements completed the course will be a beautiful piece of real estate. For now it is a reasonable round at a reasonable price.
great layout-conditions a work in progress.
very friendly, uncrowded. Nice layout but condition of greens, particularly on front 9, was terrible. Bare patches and many damaged bits.
Apparently, the course is under new management and course conditions are being addressed.
Should be a real treat when recovery is complete.
Place Looks like it is Going Out of Business-Stay Away
Probably some of the WORST course conditions I have seen at any golf course. The entire place looks like it is going out of business.
Don't waste your money here. The greens are in aweful condition and look like they are dying. The fairway has in bad shape along with dead grass covering most of the tee boxes.
Needs work but great layout
We heard there is new management. I think they will improve the course in time.
Course needs time.
The new owners are spending $, lots of people working on the course. It needs both lots of workers and some time. It appears the course suffered greatly under previous owners. I may have been closed for some time before new owners completed the acquisition. The over seed catch in not the best. Greens need time to fill in. Lots & lots of TLC is required. Having said that it apperas they are trying & remember it is a Trent Jones Sr. design.
greens were in bad shape due to late overseeding,
greens were in bad shape due to late overseeding, couse is in nice setting
Wait until January to play this course
There is a major problem with the greens. The course was neglected over the summer, with most of the damage on the greens. The new management is working on the course, but the greens won't be back before the 1st of the year.
One of my favorite courses, but greens are in terrible condition. Water management needs to be improved also. Overwatering causes muddy areas.
Keep working on bringing the course back and it will return to being one of the better courses in the area.
Challenging course. Greens still need work. Very fun to play.
Course is looking very good. The greens haven't filled in yet so they are abit bumpy and hard to read. Hopefully after they fill in the course will be in great shape.
Excellent value and birdwatching too!
Our twosome played on a Sunday afternoon and finished in 3 hours with very few other players on the course. Some of the tee boxes and greens were very sandy and had sparse grass but that's not all that unusual for this time of year and should improve. Fairways had spots of bare turf but also are filling in. There are a variety of hole configurations and some great views, plus an abundance of waterfowl and other birds.
Like course, people, staff--greens abominable
See above , Greens really bad, torn up, staff friendly enough, had to hunt for them, found them in the dining room,
Coming along but Greens still need a lot of attention
Nice new paint on Marquee Entrance, new carts, fairways better, but Greens still need lots of attention.
NICE LOCATION BUT COURSE IS IN ROUGH SHAPE
THEY ARE WORKING HARD TO BRING THE COURSE BACK TO WHAT IT ONCE WAS. I HOPE THEY CAN SAVE SOME OF THE GREENS THEY ARE EXTREMELY ROUGH AND DEAD IN SPOTS. WE WILL GO BACK. STAFF AND MEMBERS WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING AND THE SCENERY WAS BEAUTIFUL. GOOD PLACE TO PLAY WITH MY WIFE WE WERE NOT PUSHED.
needs work
The fairways were thin, the bunkers had mostly raked dirt, not sand, and the greens appeared to be recovering from a fungus. The staff discounted the golf now fee by $5 due to course conditions. The carts were new.
Course needs some TLC
Greens in poor shape, tee boxes just dirt on some holes, Course features lots of bunkers, but almost all of them are hard-packed. If you don't have much to do and don't want to spend much, this course will work. If your time is limited and you want a quality golf day, look elsewhere until this course is restored.
This course has stunning mountain and desert views.
Staff was very friendly and laid back. One of my favorite courses to play.
The rearrangement of the course is good.
Generally, the course is in good shape. We had been told that the greens were not up to the usual standard and that was true although it is apparent that work is being done to repair them.
The person in the pro shop gave us a discount because of the condition of the greens.
