About
One of Jim Fazio’s first solo projects, Riverchase is a surprisingly tough challenge given its lack of trees and relatively short length. The course runs through the bottomlands of the Elm Fork Trinity River and is loaded with water due to a chain of interconnecting lakes created to collect heavy rains and irrigate the course. While there are no forced carries, water comes into play at least 12 holes, and out-of-bounds is a frequent concern because of the housing community that surrounds the course.
No. 5 is the most difficult rated hole–a long dogleg right par 4 that requires a solid tee shot to be in position to reach the green in two. The approach is long and uphill into a severely back-to-front sloping green with a lake on the right and out-of-bounds and bunkers on the left.
Two holes later, No. 7 is one of the toughest approaches in all of DFW. This hole plays due south into the prevailing wind, and the elevated green has a depth of only about 25 feet. Bunkers line the back, and the slope in front is significant. Ups and downs are difficult because of the slopes in the green. Take a look at the pin placement when you’re teeing off on No. 4.
The good news is that other than out-of-bounds, the course is mostly wide open, so you’ll generally have a shot if you just miss the fairway. The only thick spot for trees is along the creek on holes 14-16.
Getting there : Take the Belt Line exit off of 635 and drive north to MacArthur. Turn right (east) and drive to Riverchase Dr., where you’ll turn left. Look for the course on the right side of the road.

Descent but there are better
It wasn’t a terrible course. The place was well maintained, but there were no trees on the course and that means no shade either. I do not recommend playing the course on a hot summer day. Foe the price there are better courses out there. The greens were just aerated so we had mix reviews on them. Overall I would play this course again, but not on a hot summer day.

Looking good to me after flooding with front 9 holes last week.ntill last week.(was closed)

Excellent maintained courses.
They planed aerification to the greens from the afternoon next Monday due to Texas Warm(July 26th) informed by mail..

Solid course
loved the course. Main complaint is that this was my 3rd time playing in the last 4 months and then bunkers have been under repair every time ive gone

Pretty good golf course
The front nine is currently closed, so you play the back nine twice over. Otherwise, pretty average to good course for the price.

Decent Course if you can play all 18 holes
The course had been flooded, so we couldn't play the front nine. The fairways were in decent shape, the tee boxes were rough on most holes. The greens need some work. The staff was friendly and the pace of play was excellent.

Front 9 Closed
The front 9 was closed and apparently has been for a week or.more due to flooding as the result of a local reservoir needing to release water.
That fact wasn't included on the app when I booked the round nor when I checked in, so I had to play the back 9 twice relegating it to a mere practice round.
The tees still have some storm damage, the fairways are good in places (and rock hard in others--I actually was able to dribble my ball on one!, and the greens are still a bit sandy and bumpy from being punched a few weeks ago. One bunker was flooded by an irrigation leak and no one seemed to be doing anything about it...the bunkers themselves are more dirt than sand...Best of luck!
And honestly, if you have a back condition or like your kidneys you probably shouldn't drive a cart there because the cart paths are brutal, lots of broken concrete in need of repairs.
I like this course, like the way it plays, but I probably won't be back until the front 9 is open, the greens grow in, and even then, those concrete cart paths are truly brutal--- on one section my clubs nearly fell out of my cart and all 3 balls in the ball holder flew out...crazy bumpy!
The best news was that I played in 3 1/2 hours

Horrible Holiday Place to Play!
Tried to play the day after 4th of July. Booked a fairly early 8:30 AM tee time. Showed up and the employee tells me that the driving range was closed as they "cut" the grass on Mondays. I think for a holiday, they could change the day of this. Then the guy tells me that the front 9 was closed due to flooding. I understand that this happens and is beyond their control, but they could then cut in half the amount of tee times to help speed up play. It took us almost 3 hours to play the first 9 holes, back nine, and we decided to quite as it was only getting slower as more and more players teeing off at the same time early tee times are trying to start their "back nine". Plus, no cart girl, no one working the bar for food or drinks. Just terrible for a holiday!

Riverchase is a fun little track!
Love courses where you can consider driver, hybrid, or long iron off the tee. Great condition of the greens considering many courses around the area were badly hurt by the bad freeze we had in February. My compliments to the superintendent.
