About
One of Jim Fazio’s first solo projects, Riverchase is a surprisingly tough challenge given its lack of trees and relatively short length. The course runs through the bottomlands of the Elm Fork Trinity River and is loaded with water due to a chain of interconnecting lakes created to collect heavy rains and irrigate the course. While there are no forced carries, water comes into play at least 12 holes, and out-of-bounds is a frequent concern because of the housing community that surrounds the course.
No. 5 is the most difficult rated hole–a long dogleg right par 4 that requires a solid tee shot to be in position to reach the green in two. The approach is long and uphill into a severely back-to-front sloping green with a lake on the right and out-of-bounds and bunkers on the left.
Two holes later, No. 7 is one of the toughest approaches in all of DFW. This hole plays due south into the prevailing wind, and the elevated green has a depth of only about 25 feet. Bunkers line the back, and the slope in front is significant. Ups and downs are difficult because of the slopes in the green. Take a look at the pin placement when you’re teeing off on No. 4.
The good news is that other than out-of-bounds, the course is mostly wide open, so you’ll generally have a shot if you just miss the fairway. The only thick spot for trees is along the creek on holes 14-16.
Getting there : Take the Belt Line exit off of 635 and drive north to MacArthur. Turn right (east) and drive to Riverchase Dr., where you’ll turn left. Look for the course on the right side of the road.

Foursome with a 1st Timer
The greatest drawbacks are the sand traps & cart paths. I like the course layout and the variety on holes. Out 1st timer had a blast. She was like a kid in a candy shop .

Urban Center
This course is the center of a housing subdivision. Lots of water so the course has narrow fairways in between ponds of water and homes. The gas carts and the cart paths need work. The tee boxes were uneven and hard as a rock. The fairways were pretty narrow but in fair shape. Around the greens were overwatered and muddy. The greens were generally ok.
The fairways were too close together- Had 4 balls hit at us over first two holes and then again throughout the course. For that reason if you are a beginner or someone that cant keep the ball fairly straight then this course really isnt for you. Too many chances to hurt someone or something. Although we had fun, the course doesnt leave much for imagination. Very friendly and helpful staff though. Would play again but probably not often.

Worst maintained course in DFW
Do not waste your money, even if it’s only $30 something dollars. It’s obvious they spend no money keeping the course up to playing shape. I’m not sure what has more cracks, bumps, or potholes. Either the fairways or the cart paths. Also, if you find a level tee box, let me know.
Good open course
The play starts off tight around the man made lake, but opens up as you go further during play.
Par 3s are challenging with elevation changes, and par 5s offer plenty of landing space.
Bunkers are not offensively in the way, but play to bad shots and mishits.
Greens were smooth, no blight or rough spots.

Good value course for the area. A little more Carrollton than Coppell.

Nice round of golf
First time back in 2 yrs. Course is In nice shape. Greens smooth and quick. Still need to fix the cart paths.

Why so wet?
The most obvious negative today is the number of fairways that were VERY wet, as in stopped the rolling ball. That is a big problem for me at 75 and hoping to hit it 215. No rain for 72 hours, and bunkers were not raked. 4-1/2 hour round in that we had to wait before hitting pretty much every tee shot. The greens were a nice speed but had some problem areas. The staff was great and the course layout was really fun, with every possible hole configuration included. We'll be back, and if the course isn't soaked, I'll give it a top rating.

Cart path only today
Friendly staff and wet in the morning and dry in the afternoon with cart path only..
Almost disappeared aerificaion on the greens...
Wide open in between group of high school golfers and 4 some cart drivers.... we just by passing 4 some

Putting greens
Greens are in good shape, hole #7 was the bad green. Par 3 #7 was very bad.. the sand traps can be better.
