Golfing at the Beach
Beautiful course in Florence Oregon. Fairways need some work. Patchy spots on fairways. Poor or missing directions between holes. Some cart paths were concrete in great condition some gravel or nothing. Greens were in good shape. We were able to use a GolfNow Hot Deal. Paid $118 for both of us including a cart. Regular price is $120 per person including a cart. Way over priced. In my opinion $75 would be reasonable. We used a new power cart and pro shop was nice.
Windy fun
Interesting layout. A few dog rights, a few dog lefts, a few elevated tees and a few elevated greens. But mostly wind, lots of wind!
Course dry!
Pulled into parking lot! Weeds everywhere! No one there in mid summer on Oregon Coast! Why! Course was dry! Need TLC. Won’t play it again. Not a $100 course!
Disappointed/Not worth the price
This was the first time I've played this course since it was purchased by new owners. The course was previously called Florence Links. It was kept in good shape and prices were reasonable.
I was surprised to see the increase in price and expected to see course conditions justifying the price hike. Unfortunately, the opposite was true. Many of the tee boxes were dead grass and/or dirt. The fairways and greens were just okay. Unlikely I'll play there again for the price they're charging. Not worth the price.
Nearby Ocean Dunes Golf Links is in equal or better shape and half the price!
Way Overpriced
Live in Florence and have played "Pines"" many times in years past. New owners have, just like the previous owners, priced the course ridiculously high. This is not a $100 plus course. It's beautiful, somewhat forgiving, and fun to play, but not at current fees. Lower your price and get back to a Locals Special if you want to make it.
Overpriced
The course is in need of major upgrade. Even with that being done, as new management has promised, Sandpines is not a premier course requiring a premier price. The course is somewhat scenic with views of trees and sand dunes but there are no ocean views. I was fortunate to find a GolfMoose price but they no longer exist and I fear that the current prices may doom this course as witnessed by the fact there are all day tee times available even one day ahead and on weekends. Hopefully this will not be the case and management will reconsider their pricing structure. I have always enjoyed but will no longer play this course at the current price. Suggest that you travel an hour and a half north to Lincoln City and play Salishan Golf Links.
Way Overpriced for Quality and Amenities
So sad to see this course in such bad shape. At nearly $130 per round (including a $16 large bucket of range balls), this could be one of the worst golf values in the state.
Great Bones But Missing Heart
This course has a solid layout that could easily be a local gem. The routing is thoughtful, with a nice variety of holes that make good use of the natural terrain.
The issue is in the atmosphere—or lack thereof. The whole place feels a bit sterile, There's no real character or sense of place, and while nothing is exactly bad, it all feels a bit impersonal.
Maintenance-wise, it's clear the course has seen better days. It's not falling apart, but there's a light layer of neglect: bunkers that need edging, cart paths starting to crumble, and clubhouse areas that could use a refresh. None of it ruins the round, but it does chip away at the overall experience.
In short, the course deserves more love. With some attention to detail and a touch of personality, this could be a standout destination. As it stands, it's good—not great—and leaves you hoping someone will give it the polish it needs to shine.
Like the course however, the conditions seem to be going down hill some? Area's need some work, i hope they put the work in because i really enjoy the course.
Challenging and beautiful
This course is a great deal for the price. This is really one of my favorites courses in Oregon. Needs a little more TLC but otherwise a wonderful track with great views!!
Nice Course overall
I haved played this course for over 10 years and really like it. The negative aspect is the overall course conditions seem to be slowly going downhill. I hate to say that, however the turf on the fairways seems to have more "rough spots" each year. I just hope they start to get it back in the shape it was in years ago.
Fun coast course
A really fun layout with some pretty views. The course could use a little love these days but still very enjoyable.
Great winter place to play golf
This is a great course in the winter to play golf very challenging with wide open fairways. The only thing I could say is, I wish there was another set of tees between the ladies and the whites for somebody of an older age like me.
Great course, always has been
Glad to see FGL is embracing golf now. It’s an hour and 40 minutes from my house but it’s a great winter course. Firm and fast and fun! Deals will get me and my friends to drive over.
Please restore #7 to its former glory. Even if the dune creates a natural hazard on the approach, I’ve always felt like cutting 100yards off of the hole was a disappointment.
