Layout a plus
Greens soft and slow, enjoyed the routing and layout, stout Par 3’s, 16,17,18 make this course!!
Surprise additional expense; BEWARE!
Have played this course MANY times. This was the fourth time I have played on a Golfnow Hot deal during COVID. This was the FIRST time they have charged additional $$ for a second cart. Not just a small stipend, it cost me $36 dollars extra! You need to add details to your Hot Deal now letting people know in advance that they will only provide ONE golf cart with the Hot Deal. Had I known I would have brought my push cart and walked.
Great Deal
Given the amount of rain they got in the days prior, the course was in good shape and the greens
were rolling nice! We’ll be back!
Best bang for your buck...
Florence is hands down the absolute best combination of value and course conditions you can play on the Oregon Coast!
Excellent greens. Many tee options for all golfers. Would be a little tough to walk, fortunately had a cart
Windless day at Florence Golf Links
Today was the second time, out of seven visits, that there was little to no wind. It really changes how the course plays, although I have personally scored similar in high winds here. It was a welcome change though, in terms of weather.
The course was yet again, in fantastic condition. From tee to green, and everything in between. We did have to wait for a decent period of time for a cart, which we shared as we drove 2 1/2 hours together to play here (if others would do the same, others wouldn't have to wait on your carts to be cleaned and turned around). That is not a fault of the staff, that is selfishness from other players.
The staff was friendly during check-in at the pro shop, Steve and Sandy were their typical happy and smiling selves, even under some pressure to get carts turned around for those who were waiting. Even with that, the groups ahead of us, ourselves and the groups behind us were all able to tee off at our designated times.
Yet again, another fantastic round at Florence Golf Links. 5/5, 10/10, 100/100 to all the staff involved at Florence Golf Links - look forward to the next opportunity to play this track!
Will definitely plan on playing this course periodically. like a hidden little jewel.
Staff
Michael/Policy. Booked initially via phone... not sure of person booked with. A group of 8 from Eugene came over to 36 holes in one day, finishing at links. The first group booked on tee off.com—- 10 cheaper. I called to get same rate a few minutes later ... was told by a Michael (poor communication) can’t do that rate. So we were told we had to play 40 minutes later to get better rate. Just felt better customer service to get us to play your course, and drive there from Eugene. Your course is not getting business in the afternoon. Course is unique and fun—- totally different and worth the drive—-I would do it more often during the summer. I do realized that you do offer great /fair rates. Pa— I bought a super cool hat still and spent 25 bucks because the starter got us out earlier. Customer Services 101. I’ll work there and show you. Starter was good ... excellent!
Florence Golf Links
The course was in good shape with fast fairways and sand traps in play on every shot. Great par 3's that were challenging and fun to play. The par 5's were reachable in two if you were playing down wind and playing into the wind made the par 5's, three shot holes. A great links course to play and the wind is in play on all shots. I had a great time playing the course and the staff was wonderful and accommodating to all visitors and players. I was pair with a great twosome and we had a enjoyable round of golf.
SOOO disappointed!!!!
My buddies and I have been going here for years. I travel 2 1/2 hours from Portland to play this course about 4 times per year. It WAS that good. We made the trip yesterday because the weather was going to be amazing. And it was. Sunny, warm and low winds. Excited to play.
The first thing I noticed was that the putting green was a little shaggy and slow. uh-oh.....Normally the greens are amazing here, smooth and true. Maybe the rest of the courses greens would be different? It wasn't. Bumpy, slow and brown in places. You could see the ball bounce on every putt. The fairways weren't much better. On top of all of that, they charged $85.00. (I would gladly pay that rate if the course was in the condition I have come to expect) I should have stayed home and played Pumpkin Ridge or Langdon Farms for that cost...I heard that the course was recently purchased and it seems like the new owners don't give a dang. Not sure I will make the trip again. Very disappointed.
Down hill
The seem to have forgotten about the course and are building houses instead
