Okay for late summer
They just painted all the greens to make them look better than they are. Lots of disease on the greens and they did not roll very well. This is the first time I have played the course since they sold it. Not a fan of the greens
Scary
I played during monsoon season so seeing clouds and thunder towards the end of the round was intimidating, but I had a great time. Course is beautiful. Ill be back!
Great day at Birdie Ranch
The course is in great shape. There are a couple scars on some of the greens left over from a dry/cold winter. However, they are overall very nice...and quick. Fairways are lush and so is the rough...don't go there.
The only area of constructive criticism is their dirt cart paths need to be worked. Many are washboard and uncomfortable to drive over.
Silver creek
The only critical comment I have is that the greens suffered some damage over the winter and are slow to recover. The staff is working the issue and the remainder of the course is in good shape. All other facets were enjoyable.
Birdie Ranch 6/29/25
Ok course. Greens are tough. Very fast and some winter kill issues. Front 9 is tight but opens up some on the back . If your visiting the area, it's worth a play but not a destination course for sure
Awesome
We had heard this course was really good, but it was beyond good. We knew they had a tough winter, but the course has come in great (with the exception of a few greens) The staff treated us like royalty and the food was great as well. couldn't ask for more and for $85 it was well worth it - we will be back soon
Tournament play
Had a scheduled tee time for 2PM, there was a tournament being played ahead of us. They sent out 2-3 groups of 8… pace of play was atrocious, ended up skipping multiple holes and leaving early. Course had a bad winter and the new grass hasn’t come up yet in the fairways. Way to expensive for what it was.
Early season round
Got caught unexpectedly by a storm front. Still had a great time. Early in season so recently aerated. Had minimal effect on play. Greensvare fast. Staff is always excellent. Clubhouse could use some love but beyond that. I'll be back later this summer.
Fantastic Condition
One of the best courses I’ve played in AZ!
The condition & layout is fantastic!
One set back was that the pro shop personnel could have been more informative & friendly.
Bob Taylor
Pace of play was terrible. They really need a marshal out checking. Every hole we were waiting we finally drove through and played the front 9 again. While driving through every hole was backed up sometimes with 2 groups waiting. Not good
Soggy
Greens were very good and fast. However, the entire course was really wet. Talked to a regular at the course and asked if they had a lot of rain, he said no, that they really soaked it with the sprinklers. Some fairways with rows of grass laying where they obviously got behind mowing do to really wet ground. Scorecard says 2 hours per 9 holes strictly enforced, not true. We were 4 1/2 hours, played behind the Men's Club. I guess Pace of play is not enforced for the Men's Club.
Great, wide layout.
Great wide layout. Dirt dart paths but pretty level. As someone posted previously, greens were faster than Usain Bolt in a track meet. All in all, a must play if you’re in the Pinetop/Show Low area
Beautiful challenging course
This was the first time I played the course, but it was extremely challenging, but in an excellent shape. The greens are really fast so it took a little while to get used to them. I improve my game a lot on the back nine. Would definitely recommend this course and play again.
