Gleannloch Golf Club - Gleann Course
About
One of Houston's top-rated public courses, Gleannloch Golf Club features a Jay Riviere 27-hole track on the site of the formerly world-famous Gleannloch Arabian Horse Farm. Loaded with rural charm, the gently rolling terrain snakes through the tall pines highlighted by strategically placed lakes, sand bunkers, and grass bunkers. While houses are nearby, the dense woods keeps the course secluded and peaceful-feeling.
The Gleann nine is a bit more user friendly, only tipping out at 3,355 yards since it sports three long-iron par 3s. Hole 9 is the longest, a 598-yard par 5.
Getting there : Glennloch Farms is located 28.7 miles (40 minutes) NW of downtown Houston, situated east of Hwy. 249 and north of FM 1960.

Fun course
I find this to be a very enjoyable course. The pro shop staff is as friendly as in the city. The course is 27 holes and each time you play it could be a different set up of which 2 nines
you play. The greens roll true. The fairways are in solid shape. The bunkers are great. I played on a Sunday morning and we played in three hours and 59 minutes, which was amazing.
Love it
Been playing here a lot lately. Great value for the price in my opinion . Biggest gripe is the greenskeeper places the holes in tarded positions and angles…would not fly in official tournaments.
Pace of play
I have played here multiple times before my last experience was the wirst it has ever been at a club before. The two some in front of us started behind pace. The entire round we were waiting on them (we a 4 some which included a walker). This then proceeded to the Marshall continue to harass my group asking us to speed our pace of play. Keep in mind due to the two some in front of us we started 7 mins late and we made up 5 of those minutes. Having the Marshall stop us multiple times asking us to speed up our play which we had no control of due to the group in front of us really ruined it for the group. So beware of the Marshall and his little iPad he will harass you over your pace being held up by the group in front of you.
Great course
The staff were incredible and made my visit worth it. Course was in great condition for this time of year. Looking forward to my next visit!
Needs Repairs
The course is undergoing renovations in the club house so, once it is done this should have better amenities. The course was in fair condition but, the tee boxes had been over sanded and under repair.
The staff was very nice and they were accommodating.
I played this course about 15 years ago and it was in much better shape but, based upon my conversation with the staff I believe it will be in much better shape next season.
Overall course conditions were good I would say better than most of the public access courses. Greens rolled true, bunkers are maintained. My only complaint is with a 3 nine layout your pace of play is constrained switching 9’s. I like to play early and fast and making a turn to finish in 3.5 hours just doesn’t work
Course has multi nines and is in great shape
Loved the pines layout. Al greens were in great condition and staff always friendly.
Awesome course
Played a foursome at noon (kinda too hot) but still enjoyed playing this course. First time playing since it’s a little out of the way for me but it was well worth the drive. Beautiful greens and holes, place is very well maintained. Definitely going back but not at noon.
Fair price with good condition.
It’s my first time paying here. We were playing Goch and Pines. I played from the tip with around 7300 yards, which you needs good distances. Some green are small and challenging and most of them are in good shape. I will definitely come back with current deal.
Great
This was the best course ive been to in a long time. The greens were amazing, the rough was challenging, and plenty of shade/water near the tboxes. I would love to go back.
Booking
The online only booking of a tee time is a joke. We played weekly till the switch to online booking only now ithis course is a last resort
Day of Golf
Glenloch has a very customer orientated staff. The three nine hole courses have some difficult holes, but the majority are geared to be very to the senior golfer. The staff have numerous member tournaments that are a lot fun.The courses are always in fine shape due the Course Superintendent and his staff. They sponsor numerous junior golf tournaments for the junior golfers. The ladies tees are positioned to make the courses “Lady Friendly”. It is a nice place to enjoy around of golf almost year round.
Great day out
