Franklin Bridge Golf Club
About
Franklin Bridge Golf Club (formerly known as The Crossing GC) runs alongside the Harpeth River, which borders 15 of the course's 18 holes. Opened in 1970, the course has a classic layout that will appeal to a wide range of skill levels. Some of the holes definitely present a formidable test, the 16th and 18th for example, which have been hailed by local media as two of the best and most challenging holes in the state, but it is the par-4 ninth with its island green that is the course's signature hole. Although the layout offers a fair challenge, there is also some room for error that makes it more approachable for beginners. In addition to the course, Franklin Bridge Golf Club boasts an 8-acre driving range as well as chipping and putting greens equipped with a practice sand bunker.

Working towards a really nice place.
I like how they have cleaned up some of the grown up areas around the course. The course looks more open and the views are increasing better around the course.
Enjoyed it
Everyone said under new management. The layout was fun. You really couldnt just smash a driver on everyhole but, some holes urge you to go for it. Just moved to nashville a couple days ago. Played about 3 courses and this was my favorite so far. Will def play again
You get what you pay for
First time I've played and likely wont return. Course was in okay shape, except tee boxes were hard and some of the sand traps covered with little sand. It was a very hot day but minimal drinking water on course and the refreshment cart only arrived on hole 12. Thankfully we got drinks with lunch before heading to the back nine. My biggest complaint is lack of a hole layout on scorecard or at tee box as too many times there were hazards out of sight or we hit through the fairway. I know there are apps out there but didn't have enough battery in mobile phone to use. And bring your laser rangefinder as its hard to find yardage on course except for 150 yard stake. I expected more but for the price paid with lunch included, its about right.
Speed it up
This course has so much potential and it is obvious the new owner is working on that. It’s sad that this is one of the only public courses around this area and it gets abused terribly. The tee boxes are in okay condition due to the amount of people playing. The greens had been aerated in what looks like about the last month so they were still coming back in. Fairways were absolutely solid as usual. I will be back because this course is fun. Speeding up pace of play will make it that much more enjoyable!
First time playing this course
As the title states, first time playing this course. Course layout is challenging, not to hard and not that easy either. Lots of dogleg rights for those “slicers” out there. Could tell the greens have had maintenance done somewhat recently, was very difficult to putt anything outside of 3ft to the pin. , lots of sand still in the Bermuda on the greens. Fairways were well kept, tee boxes could use some more attention, but overall a very playable course.
Beware of the pace of play, 5 hours just today to complete 18 holes, and that’s without stopping during the turn.
By biggest complaint would be the cart management, started today with my own cart, got paired up with a 4th to our group and had to vacate my cart and join his, upon the third hole his cart died. We ended up walking 3 more holes, trying to keep the pace of play as quick as we could, till the cart I was originally in was brought out to us as a replacement. Even that took several phone calls, and a Marshall on the radio, to the club house to get that done. Was extremely disappointed in how that was handled.
Overall it was a nice course to play and considering you get range balls, lunch, and a cart for 18 holes, the price is hard to beat. Just beware of the pace of play and the outdated carts, my experience may be just a one off, but it should not have happened.
Rough day today for the crossing
Super nice staff. Looked like clubhouse just got upgraded, which was nice. Carts are way out dated. Pace of play was the worst part of the day. Tee boxes need major help. Fairways are ok, could of cleaned up the thatch from the reel mowers. Greens were just aerated, so putting was difficult.
$40 wasn’t bad for range balls, 18 holes, and a beer & burger at the turn.
Great Course!
Course was in good shape, especially the fairways. While the course design is somewhat unimaginative there’s enough water to keep it interesting. Loved that the green fees including lunch, such a good idea!
New owners jacked prices
My wife has always liked going out and riding with me in the afternoons. Once the new owners came in they jacked the riders fee. They also now forward calls to a call center that can’t answer any questions without putting you on hold and calling the course. Real pain! I will not be back.
Outstanding Golf Experience
I have played this course for 25 years and it has never looked or played better. New management is making much needed changes and I really like the direction this course is headed. The fairways and greens are the best I have ever seen them. If you are thinking of a public course to play, Franklin Bridge should be at the top of your list. I also like the fact they have changed the 2 nines around. The course plays much better with the current setup. Also something I have never experienced at Franklin Bridge before today, Brooks, the owner, was out in a golf cart greeting golfers and getting their feedback. THAT is the way to operate a business!! Keep up the great work Brooks and team, and welcome to Franklin, Tn.
To slow, 5 hour round
Course is in great condition!! But a 5 hour round is unacceptable. I want be back !!!!
Fun to Play
Booked on golf now, got out early 8am and was paired up with two local players. It was overcast and sprinkled a little on us but we played in 3 hours. New ownership doing a great job. Remodeling the clubhouse. Free range balls. I’d play it again next time I’m in town. I’ve seen comments on slow play so get there early if you can.
Brooks, the new owner, is doing a great job! The greens are in the best shape ever. The fairways are filling in nicely.
Great Course-Slow Play
The course and the staff were excellent. The pace of play was ridiculously slow. It took 5 and a half hours to play 18 holes. This needs to be addressed.
Slow play
Had to ask people in front to move along. Told marshall and they did nothing. Took 3 hours for front nine. We were waiting 10 minutes plus on every tee. Used to slow play here but this was over the top. Other half of our foursome won’t be back
Good potential - needs a lot of work
I live 10 minutes from the course and have played it more than 20 times. It used to be really nice, but it's been hammered to death over the last 10 years. I hope the new owners can breath life back into it. The greens are pretty nice, but the fairways, tee boxes and electric carts are likely the worst in the local area.
The only way to revive this course is to raise the rates and sink every penny into the grass. The fairways are poor to say the least. The other thing that keeps people away is the slow pace of play. Weekend rounds are over 6 hours because no one wants to prod the hackers along. Quicker play means more golfers and more revenue.
So raise the rates, put every penny back in the course and get serious about hiring some motivated course marshals that actually understand their role. There's no doubt this could be a great course again, but it's not going to happen overnight.
Good Day of Golf
Best golf in TN in quite a gew years.
The owners are actively improving the course and facilities.
Several very difficult holrs mixed in with several doable holes.
Very well organized with regard to practice tee and notification of next group up etc.
couple balls in the water but they well the tesult of poor shots.
This is a fun course
Played today and was teamed up with a nice group. Course is in good condition and has a fun layout. Fair setup with some challenging holes . Beautiful setting. Definitely will play again when I am back in the aewa. Staff is friendly, helpful and great.
Fun course, great people
Really enjoyed the course. The only improvement I would suggest is to have the layout of the hole shown at the tee. As first time players on the course there were a few holes where we were not sure of the exact location of the greens.
