The new greens installed in 2011 are in great shape!
Fun course in good overall condition with great greens. Very good value. My only complaint would be the condition of the golf carts. We were given 2 and neither one's parking brake worked.
Well-maintained, entertaining round
Fairways were well-manicured; roughs were challenging; greens were recently sanded but rolled true and moderately fast. Sandtraps could be raked and better maintained, but much of that could be from play earlier in the day and lack of prudence by fellow golfers. Excellent time and enjoyable round.
Good Old Stonebridge...
On a September Sunday, who could ask for anything better than a round of golf in Memphis. What is so nice about this course is that it offers a player the opportunity to play every club in the bag. It is somewhat forgiving off the tee and just a few firm greens. All in all a great place to take your game!
You need to play Stonebridge
Stonebridge is a great track to play. The staff was
was very friendly and course conditions were excellent.
I would definitey recommend this course to all.t
This course was great. The greens were awesome.
I played at 1200 on a weekday. The course was moderatly busy due to the terrific weather. The staff was helpful, courteous, and friendly. This course is a great value.
greens
greens were in good condition, they had recently treated them so there was a lot of sand on them, the fairways were great and the 2nd cut of rough is thick so stay out of it or your in trouble
Good challenge - great for the money
Very good course especially for the cost. Plenty of challenge and the greens were in great condition.
Great Public Course
was nice to get a 3 hour round in during the week, when typically a weekend round is AT LEAST 4.5 hours.
i do have some issue with some 'changes' that are going on at Stonebridge... they appear to have removed all GPS from the carts, I never see the cart girl anymore, and it looks like they are about to install a new "get your own range balls" vending machine.
I am fine with the above changes, not a big deal.... the big deal is that the greens fees have not gone down...
Awesome course, tough greens.
Ive always been a fan of stonebridge. There is a good variety of types of holes on the course (i.e. difficult and easier par 3's 4's and 5's). The course is in very good shape, and well maintained. Fairways are good, rough is not too bad The greens roll very true and i dont remember noticing any dad spots. The greens are hard, lightning quick and some are very unforgiving if you do not control your pace. The greens are a touch too firm for me though, for it is nearly impossible to get a good check from any approach shot. Besides that, the course is great. IMO, if you can find a hot deal then it is a steal, a discounted rate is about right though. Paying 40-60 at the clubhouse is just a little too much for me
Surprising nice.
The course is well taken care of. Greens were challenging with some having some real rolls and dives. Would have liked to see the beverage cart along the way.
The course is in great shape
We played from the senior tees (White) and the course is tough enough from there. A couple of the pin positions were really tough. I had one twenty foot putt that I left a foot short and it rolled back past where I started from. A couple of others I under estimated the break by just a little and the balls ran all the way off the green. Fast greens, but smooth and true. I teed off late to get a good rate and it was well worth it. Fairway are in good shape too. Some of the fairways are quite narrow and none of them are what I would call wide open, so it is a good test of your golf game.
Course in great shape
Course was in great shape. Greens were very fast. Only negative was some of the hole placements were too difficult for the weekend golfer because of being on a hill and the quickness of the greens.
Awesome course
Clubhouse and course were great, greens were in excellent shape!
New owners are spending money upgrading!!!
Massive upgrades at the clubhouse. Best news is the fairways have grass you can actually hit irons off of. Played this course a year ago and gave it an average rating, at best because the fairway grass was cut so low you could'nt get an iron under the ball. The new owners have fixed that!!! This is fast becomming my favorite course in the Memphis area!!!
Speediness of the greens is an issue
I have played Stonebridge many times over the years, but yesterday was my first time to play it this year. Our game was just not that fun with the speed of the greens the way they were. For an amateur tournament, the speedy greens might make sense but not for the average golfer just looking to have fun like we were yesterday. Although I like Stonebridge, I will not be returning to this course until the speed of the greens has been addressed.
Greens surface is too firm
The course is in decent shape however greens are hard as a rock..Need to soften then a bit....
Not bad
Very nice staff. Very good course for the money. They are next to the interstate on a few holes, but that didn't bother me. Narrow through a few holes as you go through a few neighborhoods... but overall, the course is in good shape and it's hard to complain if you are looking for just a relxzing day of golf.
Stonebridge
Fairways getting more plush & greens still tops in this area. Friendly staff.
Good Experience
Championship Bermuda greens. Roll true, very quick and in good condition, but like most Championship Bermuda, they are pretty firm and balls tend to bounce and roll out a bit.
Fairways and greens were in excellent condition.
Course is pretty tight and there aren't a lot of holes to "grip and rip", but it is a fair and challenging layout.
We caught the course on a very light day and played in around 3 hours and barely waited on a single shot .... this isn't my normal experience here, but was a pleasant surprise.
Would recommend to a friend, however, I would let them know that the last two times I played there the pace of play was very slow.
I like this course for a couple of reasons, it is usually in very good shape, there are some interesting holes, staff is friendly, the price is right, and it is close to where I live. The only issue I have is the pace of play at times is extremely slow, I will say though the marshals were out there trying to speed it up but unless the slow players pick up and move not much is gonna improve. Overall I like the course!
