Well worth playing again….
Had a great time…greens were pretty quick and true. Had difficulty getting them figured out. Hitting fairway was important…rough was pretty deep. Got the HOT DEAL…great deal at $19
It could have been better
Hole 2 needs to be repair, on the green is a tear and I missed my birdie! Water everywhere and no sights of draining!
Great course
Course was in great shape with exception of a couple of fairways but the greens roll great, have a great staff and nice practice facility. Best course in Memphis for the money.
good course
the fairways and greens are not parallel to each other.
Hidden Gem
I traveled to Memphis and wanted to find a course that I could play with short notice. Stonebridge had several openings on a Saturday, which was unusual for me. When we arrived the parking lots were not packed, another indication that we may have not found a good course. Staff greeted us and checked us in. We hit balls at the range, which the range balls were rock flights. When we made it to the putting and chipping greens, I was extremely pleased with Champion Bermuda Greens. They rolled true and held our shots well. The round was played as a two-some and we never were waiting on our next shots.
The reason this is a hidden gem, is value and condition of the course. You won't be disappointed.
what you expect in memphis
Greens were slower than normal, fairways were very soggy only because of the rain from 2 days before. It will be a really nice course when mother nature cooperates.
Surprisingly Upscale
A beautiful golf course in a very affluent part of suburban Memphis. Very accessible, and easy to find-- just look for the water tower on I-40. Gorgeous tree-lined fairways should be a reminder to keep the ball in the fairway. The rough was thick and juicy. Fairways fast. Carefully read slope of receptive greens. Don't get too greedy on par 5s.
New management does not appear to be keeping carts in good repair.
Would not play without discounted pricing. New owners asking higher than normal prices.
They are not maintaining carts. For the second time in as many weeks I was given an electric cart that could not make it around the course.
worst saturday experience
The course is very nice. But for a full Saturday rate in fall, I was extremely dissapointed. We were a twosome, last minute they paired us with a twosome that were extreme beginners. We were behind a foursome that appeared to be champions because they played twice as slow. They put a single behind us that consistently pressured us. No Marshall passed to regulate any play. After the round I asked management to make it right, he offered me a bucket of balls on the driving range. I left my card, I will not book here again until they make it right with me, the customer.
The new greens installed in 2011 are in great shape!
Fun course in good overall condition with great greens. Very good value. My only complaint would be the condition of the golf carts. We were given 2 and neither one's parking brake worked.
Well-maintained, entertaining round
Fairways were well-manicured; roughs were challenging; greens were recently sanded but rolled true and moderately fast. Sandtraps could be raked and better maintained, but much of that could be from play earlier in the day and lack of prudence by fellow golfers. Excellent time and enjoyable round.
Good Old Stonebridge...
On a September Sunday, who could ask for anything better than a round of golf in Memphis. What is so nice about this course is that it offers a player the opportunity to play every club in the bag. It is somewhat forgiving off the tee and just a few firm greens. All in all a great place to take your game!
You need to play Stonebridge
Stonebridge is a great track to play. The staff was
was very friendly and course conditions were excellent.
I would definitey recommend this course to all.t
This course was great. The greens were awesome.
I played at 1200 on a weekday. The course was moderatly busy due to the terrific weather. The staff was helpful, courteous, and friendly. This course is a great value.
greens
greens were in good condition, they had recently treated them so there was a lot of sand on them, the fairways were great and the 2nd cut of rough is thick so stay out of it or your in trouble
Good challenge - great for the money
Very good course especially for the cost. Plenty of challenge and the greens were in great condition.
Great Public Course
was nice to get a 3 hour round in during the week, when typically a weekend round is AT LEAST 4.5 hours.
i do have some issue with some 'changes' that are going on at Stonebridge... they appear to have removed all GPS from the carts, I never see the cart girl anymore, and it looks like they are about to install a new "get your own range balls" vending machine.
I am fine with the above changes, not a big deal.... the big deal is that the greens fees have not gone down...
Awesome course, tough greens.
Ive always been a fan of stonebridge. There is a good variety of types of holes on the course (i.e. difficult and easier par 3's 4's and 5's). The course is in very good shape, and well maintained. Fairways are good, rough is not too bad The greens roll very true and i dont remember noticing any dad spots. The greens are hard, lightning quick and some are very unforgiving if you do not control your pace. The greens are a touch too firm for me though, for it is nearly impossible to get a good check from any approach shot. Besides that, the course is great. IMO, if you can find a hot deal then it is a steal, a discounted rate is about right though. Paying 40-60 at the clubhouse is just a little too much for me
Surprising nice.
The course is well taken care of. Greens were challenging with some having some real rolls and dives. Would have liked to see the beverage cart along the way.
The course is in great shape
We played from the senior tees (White) and the course is tough enough from there. A couple of the pin positions were really tough. I had one twenty foot putt that I left a foot short and it rolled back past where I started from. A couple of others I under estimated the break by just a little and the balls ran all the way off the green. Fast greens, but smooth and true. I teed off late to get a good rate and it was well worth it. Fairway are in good shape too. Some of the fairways are quite narrow and none of them are what I would call wide open, so it is a good test of your golf game.
