The bunkers have more weeds than the rough. They stopped the monthly memberships and screwed their loyal members. The maintenance is terrible and it's a shame because it is a good layout in a good area but they have to invest in the course maintenance to get golfers to come back.

Fairways and greens are in excellent shape. Even 1st cut of rough is very clear of leaves with just 2 -3 exceptions. 11 -12 made finding balls difficult but overall leaves were cleared off of fairways and greens. Still a number of areas still under repair but great shape overall. As usual staff is exceptionally customer oriented and friendly.

I love this course. I live only a few miles away. I have played this course for over 12 years and the current staff are very friendly and accomidating. The course is in great shape. There are very few ball washers and the one on 14 has been broken for awhile. Alot of leaves on the course but impossible to keep up with this time of year. The sand bunker rakes are all broken and leave shards in your hands if you use them. I highly recommend this couse.

I’ve always come here because in my opinion it’s the best public course I’ve played around Memphis. Staff really friendly, Greens were in quite good shape, fairways were good too from when I last played in 2020. In 2020 when I last played, the bunkers weren’t in good shape at all. Same with yesterday but that was all. Just proceeded to not play from the bunkers.

The only problem was Pace of Play. Unfortunately even though there weren’t many people playing, the pace of play was atrocious. You would’ve thought the whole course was stacked. Our round took 5hrs. We only encountered a 2some on the front 9 which they were super slow for them and a 4some on the back 9 figgy off the bat of hole 10. I don’t know if they started on the back 9 but there wasn’t any rhythm at all. There were nobody in front of them at all. If you don’t mind waiting around for 20mins per hole it’s great. Would I recommend this course to others, yes. Will I be prepared for a long round next time, definitely.

One of the best in the Memphis area. The greens were at times very fast and some were slow. Lots of uphill and down hill putts, and of course some deceptively breaking putts. Overall a challenge and fun.

The course, staff and carts were excellent. A great golf experience.

Course is coming together..new management has it going in the right direction..just need some more work with the bunkers

I picked up a golf now round as I wanted to try this course out again as I have been playing at other courses for better condition and value than at SB.

Good:

Clubhouse is renovated.

Bad:

Tee box so hard you can’t stick a peg in. Doesn’t appear to be taken care of.

Fairways: not the greatest, taller than most other courses

Bunkers: better than last visit but by far the worst around.

Greens: need work, just don’t seem like they are cared for.

Biggest issue is I wanted to bring my son so he can learn the game and they have a policy on GolfNow where kids under 10 can be on property and anyone over 10 must pay to ride. That isn’t how you grow the game or your business.

Use to play this course 3-4 times a week and it is long gone from its glory days.
