Pine Springs Golf Course
About
Pine Springs opened about three years ago and has gained the distinguished reputation of having unbelievably pure greens. This new course offers the benefits of modern design, featuring tough bunkering and water that gets in the way. A few holes feature ponds that must be carried on the approach. Hole 16 is one of the toughest, primarily because of the water.
Getting there : From I-20 exit 271 and head towards the right for 3 miles. Turn right before the UT Health Center and drive 1 mile down the road. Turn left, then look for the course on the left side of the road.

Spring 26
FYI 2nd green is closed for two + months. 11th fairway is also being repaired, but open
Pine Springs
I understand the course has new owners ??
Seems they are slowly spending money to improve, lots of irrigation work was recently done. Hopeful this leads to better fairways. Wish there was more than a couple of porta potties on the course. Also no return to clubhouse at the turn so make sure you have food and water for the entire 18. Overall I enjoy playing here
Course conditions
Stopped playing Pine Springs a couple of years ago due to the poor condition of the course. Started playing
there again & discovered the new owners are doing a great job taking care of the course. Greens are great, fairways are rapidly improving, new cart paths, etc. Has become a great place to play.
Pace of play!
The pace of play was the worst I’ve seen. There was no Marshell to keep players moving. Multiple groups where acting like they were qualifying for the US open and after all that they would shank it into the trees 🤦🏻♂️
Really nice course
First time playing here, had some pretty average to below average reviews. To a chance and I don't get it. It's a really nice course, it's really taken care of, I really like the layout, really pretty course and area. Definitely worth the money.
Fair price for an okay course
Pace of play was horrible. Tee times too close together, and the Marshall was hanging out with the slow players; obviously regulars. Tee boxes need lots of attention and leveling. Greens are decent for coming out of dormant season. Layout of the entire course needs signage for directions to next tee box. Staff was friendly but arrogant and dismissive, almost like we were a hindrance.
Rainout
Did not get to play. The course was closed because of rain. I need a credit.
east texas
nicely layed out for mostly flat ground , some challenging holes. not a CC but still worth playing
Very nice little course
I had a great time playing this course and I found it to be challenging, but not so much that you couldn't enjoy yourself. I got there earlier than my scheduled tee time, but the front desk got me off earlier than expected. That was greatly appreciated. I would definitely recommend the course. The greens were in very good shape, and I truly enjoyed my experience. I would come back and play this course without any reservation.
Great course
We loved this coarse. It was really nice for a Saturday even. If a really fun coarse and is simple to navigate. We will go back again with some friends.
Great coarse for the price
This was our first time golfing here. I was great even for a Saturday. Didn't feel crowded or rushed. The greens were really fast and well kept. The fairways were nice. The coarse is very easy to navigate. We would play here again and bring our friends.
Best Greens in East Texas
Fairways are ok for winter plus they are painted so you can see if you’re in the fairway. Greens are fast and true yes they are a challenge but if golf was easy we would not play. Staff is wonderful ever since Claire took over as the manager. It’s the best it’s ever been. It’s ok on cost because they are making improvements daily. They are in the process of putting in cart paths.
Goat pasture
This course is in poor shape. Fairways are awful, boxes aren’t cut, greens are hard, and cart paths lead to nowhere. Spend your money (and it’s not a cheap course) literally anywhere else.
Another Challenge
Having played this course before it was in good shape. The greens were hard but very puttable. Keep it the fairway well manacured. The wind was usable on some holes. Used Golf Now app for a tee time, still pricey.
All things considered was a great day. When there busy, don't get there too early for a cart.
Warm Day
This course is about average, the greens were in good shape, hard but smooth. The weather was hot to start, clouds came and made it bearable. The course was busy.
A little bit pricey however still a challenge. When they are busy, don't get there an hour before your tee time for a cart, bring a hand cart to warm up at the range.
Pine Springs
Greens and fairways in great shape for July in Texas. Good short course, nice play to play.
This course is a good bang for your buck. Greens were in good condition. Some fun holes also. Will return.
First time playing here and will definitely be back
We played here today for the first time and it didn't disappoint. Greens were excellent and fast. They held good with good approach shots. Fairways are wide and it good shape. It was just 2 of us, me and my son. I shot a 71 and he shot a 76. Driving range is very good as well as putting and chipping area. The clubhouse is dated and could use some TLC, but other than that I recommend this course. Like I said, we will be back.
