Challenging and interesting
This course is always enjoyable to traverse and play. Layout is interesting and challenging. Greens were is great shape and the pace of play excellent as is usual. Has some difficult holes but a regular player can handle with patience and realistic club selection.
Lastly, the staff is wonderful and always helpful. They provide good food and good selection of drinks to go with it.
Worth The Drive
It's a bit of a drive to Birch Creek from the St. Louis area. But I've also found the course to be in good shape, fun and I would say 9 memorable holes of the 18. Holes 1,6, & 7 on the front. Holes 10, 13,14,15,16, & 17 on the back.
The course was in good shape. However, way too many ball marks on the greens. Need a reminder to tell players to fix their ball marks. The greens were also a little firm. The course also has GPS on their carts.
Eight guy group at one of my favorite local courses
Been playing out at Birch Creek for years. Definitely one of my top 5 courses in the St Louis area
It has a very fun layout and is always in great condition. Awesome elevation changes and elevated tee boxes.
On this mid April day the course was getting ready for a mid afternoon Shotgun stared tournament filling 12 holes. Our group was in front of the first group. The beginning of the tournament overlapped our group. We needed to skip a hole. We weren't happy about this development
When we completed our round we discussed what had happened with the course Manager, Randy. He was very apologetic and explained what had happened.
I look forward to playing at Birch Creek again soon. I would recommend this course to players of all levels.

Worth The Drive
This course is about an hour from downtown St. Louis, but worth the drive. I've always thought it has 9 memorable holes. Three on the front. Holes 1,6 & 7. Six on the back. Holes 10, 13, 14, 15, 16 & 17. The other holes are generally flat, except 9 & 18, which are uphill. Course was in decent shape. Some greens beat up because golfers not repairing their ball marks!!! A greens fee of $40 is an excellent value for this course. Pace of play on the back was really slow because holes are more tight and par 5's which can be reached in two.
Great Conditions Interesting Layout
Played on a cold windy morning, and finished 18 holes in 3 and 1/2 hours, with one of our threesome walking, and having to wait on some holes. The greens were nearly perfect, firm and rolling extremely fast and smooth. The layout is enjoyable, the front and back nines are somewhat different, but both enjoyable. Traveled about 45 minutes to get here and will definitely make the drive again.
I like it - I love it
A hidden gem, at least to me. Very interesting and enjoyable course to play. Maybe almost making eagle on my first hole ever player here made me like it better, but for the price, you won't do much better than this anywhere in the area.
