"A Real Gem"
This was the way it was described by someone from Grand Junction, Colorado who had played here. He was not far off the mark at all. It's hard to believe a course of this caliber exist in a small town in remote Utah. The course is owned and run by the town of Monticello and they do a wonderful job keeping it up. I'm sure this is in part because it doesn't get a lot of play because of its location. The greens were about as pristine as you'll find and rolled as true as any you'll play. Almost felt guilty putting divots in them. Fairways and tee boxes were also in excellent condition. The course is surrounded by moderate to dense stands of Gamble Oak and Cottonwood. When you leave the first tee, you immediately feel as if you're taking a stroll through the forest and you won't have much contact with other groups playing on the course. This is not the most difficult course you'll ever play and you might feel pretty good about your game for the most part. However, there are a few holes that will test your shot making skills.
For $42, this is without a doubt one of the best values you will find in a golf course. If in the area, is well worth the play.
Nice course
Good golf course. Is a bit short but that is OK because it is somewhat tight. Definitely worth playing if in the area. Fairways are OK and the greens were good.
Beautiful
Scenery was beautiful.
Golf course was very well manicured.
Golf course was championship layout.
Very fun layout, I had to hit every club in my bag at least once.
Wildlife everywhere.
Very peaceful and uncrowded.
Loved it.

Mountain golf at its best
Great mountain course. Good layout, good conditions for time year. Golf in the wilds, no houses, lots if wildlife. Challenging layout, bring extra balls. It would be a tough walk.
this really is a secret hideout
if you are passing through monticello on your way to the amazing national parks as i was ,then a stopoff here is a must.on a golf trip back in 2010 i had played all the usual golf places in vegas and st george and thought i might as well get 9 holes in passing through monticello.as it turns out it was my most memorable 9 holes of my golf trip.the only regret is i didnt have time to get in a full 18.i think i payed like $20 and i was met with amazing wildlife with deer and rabbits everywhere.its a cool experience to have a deer stand on the tee box with you while you tee off.the course is very interesting with alot of elevation changes.after all the desert layouts eleswhere it was a nice change to have greenery all over the place.anywhere else in the world this would be a wildlife park. i cant believe they dont charge more.
