Great course with some challenging holes
I played this course twice in three days on a golf vacation to Kennewick. I intended to play another course, but I enjoyed this one so much I came back a second day. Interesting layout with lots of variety and challenge. Sand traps are hard and not really what one calls "sand", but other than that is is a well-tended course with fast greens and fairways with lots of hills.
Pretty Average
First time playing the course, but after 18 holes I was never really that impressed.
Before any con's for the course, the layout is wonderful. Not particularly long even from the tips, but the design of the holes was enjoyable and the green structures were great for a public course.
Having said that, I played on a gorgeous day (early April) so the weather wasn't a factor, but can't really say I was wowed with the experience. Played several other courses in the area and friends suggested this was the course to try, but between the bunkers being clay from zero raking in the past couple months (just a guess), the greens being littered with ball marks, and finishing in over five and a half hours (the marshal told me that was "normal" afterwards) I don't think I'll be in a hurry to go back.
If you can score a deal online, it's definitely a fun one to play in the Tri-Cities area but I can't see myself paying full price here for another tee time.
Good time
This course made for a nice round of golf. The greens were challenging but in great shape and the fairways well maintained. Will be back again.
Difficult Greens
The layout of the house is fair but challenging. The day that my wife and I played was windy 20 to 30 mph. Three good shots on the two par fives on the back and still couldn't reach the green. My biggest complaint of the course was the speed of the greens. They were exceptionally fast which I would normally appreciate. The problem was the speed matched with the slope. The ball wouldn't sit on most of the greens. On one green I was 15 ft from the pin aimed 10 ft above the hole and ended up thirty ft below the hole in the water. We won't choose this course again.
great layout
I'm really looking forward to playing in the spring. The staff was very accommodating.
Foggy
Greens in great shape, especially for January. Pace of play was pretty slow. Waited on every hole to shoot a shot
Needs course Marshall.
The golf cart was in very poor working condition, kept back firing. The people we played with had a cart that wouldn't quit beeping. Pace of play was horrible, finished in the dark because group in front of us (a threesome) was super slow. Many open holes in front of them, they should have let groups play through.
This Course is Great!
I try to play this course when I am in the area visiting family. It has been a few years, and it has improved. I was paired with one of the regular marshals and he was a great guide! The staff is friendly and accommodating and seem generally happy to be there. (Not necessarily the norm these days) I guess the best way to put it is they make you feel like a "regular" even if you don't play the course much. The course is in great condition, especially for the hot weather and the Mount of play the course gets.
Canyon lakes
Nice course but very crowded a week day with 107 degree temp. The only course in Tri Cities to get a good deal on Golf Now
18 holes at Canyon Lakes
First time playing the course overall was satisfied with the course. The club house isn't anything special and the pace of play was extremely slow due to it being "Senior Tuesday" but the practice facility and the layout of the course were pretty good. The carts have built in GPS which was nice. Overall, I would play again and recommend.
excellent conditioned course
Very nice course. Great routing and excellent greens. My only complaint was the green on #12. The slope was ridiculous. The only thing missing was a clown's mouth and a windmill! The back pin location is just stupid.
Great Course - Tough Challenge!
the course is very well laid out. Long holes and challenging pin locations. The course is maintained very well. Twilight green times best value - cost is with cart (only way to do with this course). Be ready for some fun play and bring extra balls!
Love the course
It became very windy unfortunately. It is a great course with lots of variety and challanges.
Great course
Beautiful course.... Well kept, good pace of play. GPS on carts very helpful if you don't golf with one of your own.
Tri Cities highest rated course
Nice course set in the desert side of Washington state, all holes are unique no two are even similar, , trees water elevation changes make this a good challenge while still being able to score if your on. A must play if in Central / Eastern Wa.
This course has great greens
We play this course year round, and the maintenance is top notch.
Highly recommend this course
Forgiving fairways, challenging greens, beautiful weather, golf friendly course. Loved the way it is laid out. Well taken care of. Very clean and respected course. Great driving range, and practice putting green and a miniature 18 hole course. Fun for any level of golfer.
Need a bit of skill for this course but it's fun!
Great time golfing despite the hot weather. Course is well kept and challenging.
green's good, tee box's not so good
Fun course to play. GPS on he carts help for rate of play and shot management. Greens and fairway's were in good shape, but the tee box's were awful. My question would be, that if Canyon charges what they do to play, why can't they maintain the tee box's.
This course in great shape year around
I have went to this course with friends with very low handicaps, with my wife who's handicap is not so low, I'm somewhere in between and we all seem to have fun playing it. There is a good mix of some very straight forward holes and some where a little course knowledge comes in handy. The staff always seems glad you're there.
