This is a great course for everyone.
This was my first time here and it was a great experience. This course is beautiful and is in extremely good condition. The greens were blemish free and rolled very true and predictably. The numerous water hazards added to the overall beauty of the course. Hats off to the staff here-they have a great product to offer everyone. I can't wait to play here again.
Course is nice but needs some updates
Overall a nice challenging layout, fairways and greens are very nice, bunkers OK. Played on Monday so was ablel to play <3hrs. The clubhouse burned down so they are operating out of trailers and doing a good job with that, all things considered. Course condition is probably better than most but has gotten a little rough around the edges....long rough. Yardage markers are difficult to find, very few ball washers. The grass on the driving range was at least 3 inches long. Staff was very friendly.
I do not know why I could not make score this course
Fair and good layout for average golfers. Because of my slump on approach shots, I made too much double-bogeys on this course. Price is reasonable, but I can say they do not have memorable holes. This is daily-used course.
Too many out of bounds
Unfortunately, There was no clubhouse due to a major fire few months ago. The course is really challenging. Fast greens and too many out of bounds. Need to put a driver away for most holes
Average course
No clubhouse because of fire two months ago, no food or drink available. Course was in solid condition with fast greens. Tee boxes could have been better. No ball washers and very poor marking system for distances on holes. Would play here again for 20 dollars or less.
great value
This is a great value. Greens always fast and true even in early spring after a tough winter.
The only thing is they need more yardage markers. In today's golf course experience it is critical to know how far you got to the center of the green. Not that I'm going to hit it that far....but it would be nice not to have to guess the yardage.
Locust Hill Golf Course
Did not play as course did not have any bathroom facilities. Therefore cannot rate. Went to course but turned around and played a different course.
Guy
this course is great to work on you skills
Long holes
lots of water comes into play
last 4 holes very challenging
This course has not so great features
The course was not as I saw on review.
Will not go back again
Clubhouse burned down
The course was in great condition considering our winter. Greens still fast and true. BUT no clubhouse. And facilities, paid at back of truck? So no amenities whatsoever.
A beautiful layout!
Course offered easy and challenging holes. Greens were in great shape! Great staff and carts!
Wonderful course in great condition for this time of year.
This is a challenging course and I would recommend it to golfers other than beginners.
course is in bad shape.
The last 4 holes are great. Just wish the course was better kept.
Great Value
Hidden gem off the beaten path. Worth the 1 hour 20 minute drive from Silver Spring. Greens are always perfect and the course has a very nice layout - challenging but fair. The back 9 is as good as it gets. Very plain pro shop and snack shop but very friendly personnel. Keep it the way it is and enjoy the cheap greens fees.
Pretty pedestrian
There is nothing exciting about this course. It's ok for a Golf Now hot deal, but it would not be a likely choice to play at normal rate. Very flat.... just not a fun course. I can't imagine how it gets such a high rating by Golf Week and Golf Digest!
to many houses
There are really way to many houses around this course to play. If your new or have a problem with slicing do not go
played four times
Played 3 times prior to labor day and it was painful. No marshal to speak of and granted it was just two of us but kids in front that had no idea of course ediquit and the other 4-some we passed were no better because one of them through a tantrum throwing clubs and kicking his bag on the cart. When we finally passed all was only behind 4 drunks on the last 2 holes. that
Great course to play
I have had the opportunity to play this course several times. It is a wonderful course, very well maintained, easy to get to, and not too expensive. I would recommend this course to anyone wanting a challenge, but being fair to all levels of players.
Great value for this course
Greens were in great condition as well as most of the tee-boxes...fairways and rough need to be defined better
Accuracy is what you need both in direction and distance.
This is a very nice golf course but I am glad the people I played with had played it before. They helped me to stay out of trouble several times just by telling me where to hit it and where to avoid. There are a number of places that, if you don't know the course, you could put yourself in serious trouble hitting where you think would be good on the first sight. Here you need the correct direction and distance to avoid some serious problems. The length of time did not include the rain delay of about 45 minutes.
