First time but won’t be last
Great course affordable and challenging course. PGA level greens. Fairly open course, great for swinging away.
Great public course and value
Amazing views and a good blend of easy and hard holes.
Wonderful Course
Terrific value. Course in outstanding shape!!! On the day we were there, played slow. But the improvement in the shape of the course is remarkable!!!!
Nice condition
Can't believe the views from some of the holes, making improvements that will attract more players
A muni that is okay at $30 or less
The fairaaways were pretty ggod, the tee areas were poor, the greens were hard and didn't accept good shots well but rolled decently. Overall some very strange holes with blind shots. I wouldn't return here.
Class act
I drove from NJ 150 miles to try this course out. First, course was amazing and I’m so looking forward to playing it in the regular season. Second the starter was basically 100% what a starter should be. He had a tone of cancelations early in the day but had me and a few others booked for mid day so he stayed open. I don’t know how to express my appreciation better than getting a group of friends together and playing here again. Class act and I’ll be playing this course when situation permits for the rest of my life, amazing course even more amazing staff must play here!!!
Fun course
Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in great condition. Enjoyed the course layout, even though it was very wet.
Must play. Awesome
I was visiting out of state. Best course I have ever played. Great scenery. Fun holes. Challenging. Loved it. I wa told 3 years ago this course was in terrible shape. New management has made this into a must play. I asked Connor, the guy working register to buy a ball maker clip. They didn’t have any. He gave me his OWN clip off his hat. Awesome time.
Creeps
There is some sick stuff going on up at Ely Park Golf Course. Although I’m not an avid golfer myself, I am friends with a handful of the employees at the course. Recently one of these friends of mine was forced to resign after Brian Locke a Pro Shop employee sent explicit photos of her to another member of the staff. Not only did he send these photos, he’s also made comments about her to other members of the staff that are to put it mildly, disgusting. The employee who received these photos from Brian made the other members of the staff aware of these photos and let them know to be careful around him. This employee was then fired by the General Manager Brad Smith who called these acts “locker room banter” and that everything was fine unless he was to actually act on his comments. These are my friends and I know firsthand that the staff at Ely Park are uncomfortable working with Brian Locke. And if that’s not already sick enough, The General Manager Brad Smith is protecting him. These two men are absolutely disgusting.
