I booked this course through Golfnow.com on Sunday June 14 of 2020. When I checked in with the staff at the course they told me the course no longer have agreement or contract with golfnow, according to staff who work at the pro shop. The course was a decent condition and great price but the pace of play was terrible. Up on my starting tee time a great group of 4 (husband and wives) let me tee off before them and...on 2nd hole another foursome let me play thru but after that the slow pace of play was terrible because a group of 4 didn't let me play thru. Got stuck behind 4 player who have no golf adequate whatsoever on the golf course. As a foursome playing slow and putting 2-3 time on the greens. To anyone who slow play out there, if you see a single golfer who play a decent golf behind You, first let them play thru. Two, don't practice your putt 2-3 time on the greens and have a single wait on the tee box for 5 minutes. It's a gentlemen's game, have somewhat golf adequate. Golf course also need to communicate with golfnow and let them know to take your course off golfnow website if you no longer have agreement with them so people don't get confuse and book your course with golfnow.
Fun but Spring soggy
Greens were almost healed from aeration but still a bit bumpy.
Holes had the volcano or earth donut around them since they haven’t been changed for a while. Balls plugged a lot and were hard to find.
Carts and cart paths were in rough shape. Banged up my clubs pretty heavily from the very rough cart paths. Worst I’ve seen.
Still a fun course though.
Interesting layout
Considering that we have had a ton of rain here, the course was in good shape. You have to keep your ball in the fairway or you will be spending a lot of time looking.for it !
Nice Golf Challenge
This course has a good layout on a hilly tract. Every hole is unique as it flows up and down through the hilly terrain. Several doglegs that go left and right, uphill and downhill. This course will test every part of your game. Definitely a workout for the walkers too.
Cart paths are in rough condition and the carts were a little rough too. Overall, it was a great play and I will definitely go back there again.
Endwell
Course is challenging for all levels. Recent rains have left the course wet but is still in good shape. Bunkers have been removed and replaced with grass bunkers since I last played there. Greens had been aerated so weren’t the best to putt. Looking forward to returning when greens are normal again. Nice course and facilities.
3'' of rain but the course was playable!
Heavy rain all night and into mid morning. Rained hard for 20 minutes during round. Most courses would be closed in this area. Although conditions weren't ideal, I thought it was remarkable that the course was playable. Can't fairly rate course conditions d/t the weather. However, if the forecast calls for heavy rain before play, this course can handle it.
Nice Course
My son, who has only played twice, enjoyed himself. The staff remembered him. It is a good course to play, fairly easy, but not still has challenges.
Geoffrey Cornish design....
To preface my review, I'm a big fan of Cornish designs. That said, this isn't one of my favorites....And that said, the course has improved considerably under new ownership. The major rub here is that level lies are nearly impossible to find. Good shots leave you with less than desirable sidehill, downhill and uphill lies. It's a roller coaster from tee through green. You'll need all of your clubs to get around. Chipping and putting skills are a MUST.
Great value course
I paid $12 on a hot deals time so playing 18 here was well worth it. The course is wicked hilly so it’s important to know your clubs and know how far each can hit. The greens are really fast so it’s better to play each hole short rather than go way over. For the price this course is worth it.
Nice Course
Real nice course with some challenging holes and huge greens. They have back tees that range like 7000 yards, so this course would be challenging for anyone. Only thing is that the greens are a little harder and don't hold shots that well. Would definitely play here again.
A decent, but hilly course
I'm a big fan of Geoffrey Cornish designs and while this isn't one of my favorites, it has its merits. The greens are LARGE and always in nice shape. The course itself is quirky and hilly and the most common complaint you'll hear is that you never draw an even lie here. Doglegs dominate the design, mostly by necessity. Shot placement is the key to scoring well and you'll usually shoot better with successive rounds. Fairways, bunkers and rough are generally in average condition. The carts (gas) are showing their age and due for replacement. It can get pricey here, particularly on the weekends, but I never pay full price with all of the readily available discounts. Golfnow has a great hot rate that makes it a solid play, even if you aren't a fan of the layout.
So because its challenging, that makes it a bad course? Biased review...Great course, can't beat the price.
Why would anyone want to play a flat straight course with no challeges? I don't like how someone gave this course a 2 star review, that is far from the truth. At this course you will get to play on very spongy aerated fairways and put on very fast challenging greens with plenty of breaks. This course is not one that you just pull out your driver on every hole and try and hit it as far as you can. Use strategy and pick your spots to LAY UP if you have to. I am an 18 handicap and i can shoot very well on this course if i take my medicine and play the smart shot. Only problem I had was sometimes it can get congested so make sure you have a tee time.
Skip
I guess if this was the only course you played you might enjoy it but not for us. Way too hilly and blind greens, it felt like the only level shot was off the tee. Twice from a distance we were aiming at the wrong pin and when approaching the green it was hard to keep the ball to stick, rolled off every time. Challenging...? Maybe but we lost our enjoyment real fast and just wanted it to be over. So many better courses in the area.
