Reviews
Course layout very nice
Nice layout of 5, 4 and 3 par holes. All greens except hole 17 are in excellent condition. Most of the fairways are currently very burnt up due to the fact two of their main pumps are out. Tee boxes are okay but need cutting.
Other main issue is that most of the sand traps are being over grown with weeds which is totally unnecessary as this could not happen if they were just raked on a daily basis.
Most all Cart paths Maintenace have been kept up so they’re in pretty good shape.
If they get the pumps fixed I would think they could get a majority of the fairways back in shape and this would make a big difference on overall play.
Nice Course for a small town in the mountains
This is a great public course for a small village in the mountains. Plenty of variety. Most of the greens were in excellent shape. Have played here several times and the condition keeps improving.
Great Greens
Course is in great shape for this time of year. Looking forward to playing again in the summer.
Getting better
I grew up in Silver City and have seen the highs and lows over decades. This course is 200 percent better than it was a year and a half ago. Looking forward to seeing how far the new management can take it. Thanks for making it playable again! Hopefully you can figure out 17 green. Many have tried, none have succeeded.
Needs some TLC
Played a great round with all things considered. Bald spots on every green that really made you rethink chipping strategy, no grass on hardly any tee boxes (littered with tees), very scarce grass on fairways, hard to get any true rolls to greens or even while on the green, one green was almost completely gone. Only nice green was on 18, in front of clubhouse. I really loved the layout, regulars that were playing were very friendly, and staff and clubhouse was up to par. If this course could get to a decent condition it could be a hidden gem. They have a lot of work to do. I'll give them another shot in the summer.
Bob’s two cents
The course was in terrible shape. Half the greens were 50% sand - no grass. They are suffering from a drought and very little maintenance.
