Great round in perfect conditions
Thoroughly enjoyed the round at Cumberland, the proshop was friendly and helpful. Course conditions were immaculate and weather was perfect. Had a dream run until back 9, botlleneck on last 4 holes but that's just golf. Nothing to complain about will definitely play there again,
Nice course, would play again
Cumberland is a nice course, plenty of difficult holes, water, change in undulation. Good amenities through the course, ball cleaners and drinking water etc.
Greens were fast and well looked after. Fairways too were in great condition.
Negatives:
Lack of course etiquette, zero call ups from social players which resulted in extremely slow play. I was playing alone and sat around waiting most of the day. (4.5 hours for 18 on a course which looked empty)
Bunkers were like concrete, impossible to play out of.
Cumberland golf club
I have played this course many times through the years and have always enjoyed. I played on the 15/9 and found the condition to be excellent and well looked after. I was disappointed by the amount of cigarette butts on the fairways and around the greens. There are a a few courses around Sydney with the same problem and is unacceptable.
I.had to tell 3 groups of players to keep quiet while I was putting and chipping around the greens. Very loud voices talking and shouting to each other. The pro shop has been advised of the issue.
