Colts Neck Golf Club
About
Colts Neck Golf Club is one of central New Jersey's most popular courses. The diverse course offers everything from Scottish-style bunkers to sparkling lakes. Tall golden fescue rough borders the fairways and the greens are large and undulating. The course is seemingly short at only 6,236 yards but it shouldn't be taken lightly. It's much more challenging than it appears. The layout finishes with two of its toughest holes. The 17th has a tough green fiercely guarded by out-of-bounds and the course saved the most difficult hole for last. This par 3 will test even the most seasoned golfers. In addition to the golf course, Colts Neck also has a 25-station driving range that stays open late. It's a great spot for getting in some practice after work.

Private club conditions at county course
They are doing something right in Monmouth county,NJ. They have i think 5 public county owned couurses and i have been privileged to play and enjoy 4 of them. Price is affordable and conditions are always top notch. Colts Neck was no different and was perfect round on perfect weather June day.
Only question is what is my county doing wrong with tax payer recreation $$ ?
Challenging Greens
If you like a challenge on a nice course, try this one!! Easy to walk and even easier to ride. Greens run between 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 stimp. On a hot summer day might be faster. Played it several times. Always a challenge for a visitor of a member.
Pace of play was terrible. we had a group in front that did not follow simple course etiquette. We did not see a Ranger the entire 18 holes, which could have easily solved this problem.
What could easily have been an under 4 hours round was 4.5 hours with a lot of waiting, while the greens and tees ahead were empty
Please have Rangers on the course throughout the day...….
GREAT COURSE
The only complaint I have it was Temporary greens on every hole! Some of the holes you actually lost 100 yards from the placement of the new greens.
NEW TO GOLF NOW
I was not aware of the temp Greens and Tees on all 18 holes.
Also When I was making the reservation I got a error and was not sure that it was made. so I tried to make another time. I did not realize that my Card was being charged. When I realized my mistake I canceled the other 2 reservations.
I am requesting that Golf Now respecfully refunded the
extra charges to my account.
Not worth the price in the winter season
Booked the tee time under the assumption that “course alert” was something small. Turns out it was temporary tee boxes as well as temporary greens. They started us on hole 3, the green was a circle spray painted on the fairway with multiple divots in it. Multiple “fairway greens” were even airated, but the rest of the fairways were not. The round was $45 per person, which is absurd for the condition of the course. The group in front of us was playing slowly, which caused the guys behind us to constantly tee off landing within feet behind us. Very disappointed with the round.
Staff was polite and off course amenities were closed (wasn’t surprised about that being that it’s winter season).
Do not play this course in the winter, it’s a disaster
I played this course on a Sunday at the end of February, and honestly it’s one of the few rounds in golf I’ve had that was regrettable. Every single green is a “temporary green” and every tee box is a “temporary tee box”. If the entire course is temporary and not real, why even open? Staff was nice, but there was no water or anything open on the course to buy a bottle of water, am I expecting too much? They broke up a par 5 into a par 3 and extremely short par 4, which is just stupid. I want to say I didn’t really even play this course because technically I never saw or felt a single green. Let’s hope like every thing else on this course, it only temporarily sucks.
No temp greens warning
Always in nice shape but at this time they have 18 temp greens and tee boxes charging regular rates without giving any warning. Not cool at all
Well kept fairways and greens.
Our first time playing this course. We were not disappointed. Could use minor amenities like hole identification and bigger brighter flags on the green. We were impressed by the well kept fairways and greens. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable round. Will definitely recommend to others and will certainly choose this course again in the future.
Great course
Was a good course. Has temporary greens right now looking forward to coming back and playing when the greens are back.
They have all temporary green and open only 17 holes.
U should notice before making reservation tee time.
My partner gave up playing after 2nd hole.
I couldn’t collect fee from him because he was so mad .
decent conditions
I booked my two t times on GOLF NOW. However, my golf partner cancelled at the last minute. I asked at Colts Neck GC about a credit from Golf Now. They told me that it was probably lost. Is that true? Not booking through Golf Now ever again
Ending 2019
Course has all temp greens and tee boxes. Nice layout and want to play again in the spring.
Good "winter golf" for the price.
The course was in good shape. Although there were temp greens and temp tee boxes, I understand the reason for this. I was still able to enjoy the day and the golf during the winter season.
Good course
Rainy day but when you get 60 degrees in Dec, you gotta play.
good conditions especially for this time of year.
Beautiful Course
Definitely one of the nicest courses in the area excluding private clubs. Reasonable for price on normal day/price, but an absolute steal when booked with a Hotdeal. Played tips and was still a little too short for my liking. Pace of play was slower than I would have liked but it is what it is! Highly recommend playing at least once and I will definitely be continuing to play at CN CC.
Enjoyed playing the coure
The course was fun to play. Lots of par 5 and par 3. The greens and fairways are in great condition even on wintry weather. Hope to be back here again. And Hopefully, green fees would be affordable by then.
