Great Roaring Fork Valley Course

Ironbridge is a semi-private course that caters to the surrounding neighborhood. While there are houses along a number of holes, the houses always are at a distance - no crowding. The course allows one to take in many beautiful mountain views (the last 4 holes, in a separate valley, are magnificent!). The pro shop personnel are exceptionally nice and accommodating without fail. The practice range is one the best in the Roaring Fork valley, with balls provided for free.

Fun Round

Colorado golf in Nov. can be dicey; but the weather that day was low 50's and sunny. Pro shop person was warm and welcoming - the best! Course is fun with the back 9 very different from the front. The final 4 holes in a totally separate canyon are an amazing treat for your eyes - a great reward of scenery to take in! Pace was perfect; as no one was behind us and no one in front of us. Only minor issue were the greens; which were fall fuzzy after some below freezing temps the week before.

Exceeded my expectations

Started out gentle but quickly demanded all the skills in the bag. The greens rolled nice and were consistent.

A Must Play Course for Advances Players

I've played Ironbridge many times in the distant past but not since they changed the order of holes on the back 9. The new layout leaves holes 15-18 (previously 10 - 13), those deepest into the canyon and the most dramatic, as the final holes. Its a better layout and continues to offer absolutely stunning beauty and scenery.

Players who have not experienced the course before will find the front nine fairly flat with views of Mt Sopris and the Crystal River. While players may find this course more difficult that many, it does provide five different tee positions which allows players to select a length to their comfort level.

Course conditions were excellent as they have been every time I've played it and they offer a full compliment of practice facilities. The greens are fast but true and most have a lot of contour. I found them to also be quite firm making it difficult to hold approach shots at times and local knowledge of the slopes & shapes would certainly help as would having position indicators for the pins which, on the day that I played, were not in any consistent sequence nor did the flags have traditional position colors making it difficult to know their position relative to the green as a whole.

All in all, this course is one of the finest in the area. Any golfer who appreciates the challenge and the beauty of a golf course would do well to experience Ironbridge.

Maybe my favorite course played

From start to finish the staff couldn’t have been any more friendly or professional. The course plays like three different style of courses over the 18 holes. Although it is somewhat challenging, with careful planning of the tougher holes, it is a very playable course, with a low scoring round possible.

The back nine is probably my favorite ever played. What a course!

Yes,

Great track. Fun course and excellent value w Hot Deal.

Interesting holes, especially the last 4 on the other side of the mountain.

Condition was excellent, other than rock hard greens.

Would be 5 star, but no cart girl working in the afternoon???

Go play it!

Ridiculous

After the 5th hole our wait at each tee box was 5-7 minutes. On the 18th hoke we waited for 9 minutes. No ranger. No on-course staff presence. Did not enjoy our 4 hour and 45 minute round.

Great course

Course and greens are in great shape. The front nine is fairly flat, but a lot of risk/reward opportunities. The back nine is spectacular. It weaves its way through the mountains/mesas. Breathtaking views and almost every tee is elevated.

Pace of play was great until we hit 18 where we waited about 20 minutes. Still played in 4 1/2 hours which isn’t bad.

My only complaint was they didn’t have any Gatorade or Powerade. Water, soda and booze are the only options.

Great and fun course

Always golf this course when visiting or passing through Grand Junction. We normally go to St. George to play golf, but we do not skip making a stop to play Iron Bridge.

Olson2

I loved almost everything about this course. The only negative would be that playing with my wife there were holes that didn’t have any other option but to hit it high and soft. For my wife and when I was off the fairways many holes didn’t have the option to run a shot up to the green. Other than that, I wouldn’t hesitate to play this course again from the friendly and courteous staff to the amazing views on the back nine.

In CO for vacation and wanted to experience mountain golf. This course was perfect. Had to drive up the mountain for last few holes which were amazing. Great time! Tip - bring some extra balls!

Beautiful Location

The front nine plays pretty straight forward, on most holes but not all you can see what's in front of you. the homes around the course are beautiful and complement the beauty of the course. The back nine has several holes where you really can't see and that is a problem because there is trouble on most of those. The back is extremely challenging with many shots over the canyon with a good deal of carry. If you aren't a fairly long hitter, count on either losing balls or dropping on the other side. Staff was excellent. The deal on Golf Now allowed us to play this course instead of another one we had in mind. Without the deal, it's too pricey for our taste.
