Not the best
Good value for the price. Greens not so good...over all ok
good for beginners/and intermediate players
The course conditions were acceptable. The tee boxes were good on some hole, not so much on others. The fairways were generally good with some patchiness in spots. The greens were somewhat bumpy so some puts were not running true. There is a lot of water on the course but the fairways are generally wide so the water will not come into play in most cases if you hit on the wide fairways. The course is scenic with lots of wildlife. This course needs a little TLC, that being said the price is great for what you get.
Good value
Off season play is fast 18 in 2.5 hrs. Not difficult but good for my skill level.
Nice, experience, no pressure. Customer friendly
Good value, greens are slow. No complaints for the price
Don't Waste Your Money
Read the reviews, some good and some not so good so we thought we'd find out ourselves and for a Golf Now special of $12.00 what have we got to lose. If not for the greens which were in very good condition this course would have rated NO STARS!! The tee boxes were more dirt than grass and the fairways were a combination of weeds and bare earth with a few patches of grass thrown in. I have been playing golf for too many years to count and I have never ever seen a golf course in a worse state of maintenance than Island Pines.
I would stop playing golf
The course is in very poor condition and on several holes they have all of the tee blocks together on the fairway. We found it difficult to find grass to put your ball on.
Wife and I played Island Pines, her first time and my second. We were supposed to be paired up with another twosome but we were early and starter let us go to the empty tee. Good for us as we moved right along only waiting for the twosome in front of us on the par 3's. Course was in decent shape except for the tee areas. Some were temporary and others were sparse. There were some sparse areas on some fairways but not bad. Greens were in very good shape. They rolled true and were on the quick side. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely play here again on our next visit to the area.
This is by far the worst kept course I have played
Rated 4 stars?? Really, beware it is definitely not worth the price or that rating! Worst I have ever played on golf now maybe if it were rated 2 stars!!!
3rd Time Playing Course, Wife had her 1st Hole in One
Tee boxes were a little bare, but of course they don’t affect play. Fairways were also a little bare which does affect play. Still did not stop my wife from getting her first hole-in-one and we have only been playing for 4 years.Staff was great.
Great time with the guys
The four of us are from Canada and really enjoyed the game at Island pines, Dry conditions of the course increased the roll factor. Greens in good shape, relatively fast. Higher than normal winds knocked over a couple of the pin flags. a forgiving long course. GPS did not update the course on 1 fairway and green. But all is good. will be back.
Very Disappointed
The course was too stacked up. Waited almost every hole. Then we stopped for a beer at the turn and we went to 10th and ready to tee off a starter told us we cut in front of a 4 some --- 2 of which were in the restrooms and made us wait to hit after them. After finishing that hole there were 2 groups (8 people) in front of us so we quit so wasted our money.
I wouldn't go back.
ok if you get a deal
The course and the environment needs cleaned up. The sign for the course looks like it should it for aN AMUSEMENT PARK NOT A GOLF COURSE.The homes around the course and nice and well kept bit the course looks shabby.
My review of Island Pines
Course shape a little rough. Greens appeared that they were not good and slow but in reality they putted great and were a little faster than I expected. Starter was not very nice. You can tell he was only there for the golfing privileges. He was not outgoing and seemed to not care about the golfers around the clubhouse. He seemed like he just wanted to finish working and get out of there. The lady in the shop was nice. Overall I would play again. Was paired up with 3 other players from Golf Now and it was a joy to play golf with them. Thanks Claudia, Jerry and Ed for the fun round.
How can you possibly rate this course excellent. Maybe excellent value but not excellent conditions. People like myself rely on these reviews so lets be accurate.
