Golfer Reviews
Backed up
Very nice course but the day we played it was very slow. A group in front of us on 12th hole quit because they couldn't stand how slow it was. With leaves down and sun lower in the sky it can be hard to find balls.
best course you've never heard of
if you have never played this course, YOU MUST. a nice challenge. I've been playing golf for 50 years and this is the best value for your money, guaranteed. With fort cherry and quicksilver wanting $56-$70 I'd rather pay the gas and give Kennsington my money and a lot better course.
Nice course
The only reason I gave an overall four star review was somebody needs to tell the grounds crew to let people play through when they are working. Not once but twice or young kids blowing off tea boxes whilst we stood there for more than three minutes and he never even acknowledge we were on the tea. Another young man was on the 18th Green watering at while we waited over two minutes to get our tee shots. Tell these kids were not there to watch them work. We are there to play golf.
Nice but slow
Nice course but very wet and slow group looking for lost balls in front of us. Starter should keep players moving.
Worth the drive.
I drive an hour to play Kensington and I am never disappointed. The layout is challenging, the course is in fantastic shape and the greens ran fast and firm.
$49 on a Saturday morning with a cart is unbeatable.
If you have not played here, book a time, it's well worth it.
Horrendous pace of play here. Went for a twilight round and got through Hole #3 in over an hour. Course is in decent shape if you’ve got all day to play. First time here and last time here.
Ripoff
Payed for 18, took 3 hours to play 9. When I went to the club house to inform them I couldn’t finish the front 9(made me go off the back) the said tough luck no rain checks is our policy. I was by myself, not one 4some/3some would let me play through. I will never book another tee time there again.
If the rough gets mowed, you'll like this course
Beautiful facility, great golf carts, great bar and food, great snack stand at the turn, greens are enormous and fast BUT on this particular day, the rough was so crazy long and deep, a golfer cannot enjoy the round.
Course is fine. Pace of play is horrible
All things told the layout is nice. The conditions were pretty solid, but goodness gracious the pace of play was horrendous. I get this is a public course and I played with a friend on a Saturday. But when you’re 17 minutes behind pace of play on the front nine and the Ranger comes up to you and tells you to give it a few minutes before you tee off rather than addressing the slow pace of play with the groups in front of us that’s pretty insane to me. This happened again on hole 13 and we waited to tee off- ant that time we were 34 minutes behind pace. All told, by the end of the round we were over an hour behind pace of play. And that’s not my imagination, that’s what the screen on the golf cart told us. Can’t say I’ll be back anytime soon
Absolutely a waste of time.
Completely Overbooked. No carts waited 45 minutes to get a cart It took 3 and a half hours to play 9 holes. The fairways looks like bombs went off everywhere because no one fixes the divots. You couldn’t pay me to play at this course again. Please save your time and your money.
Hospitality unmatched by any public course
The golf course was in great shape. Challenging and beautiful layout. Some of the roughest rough I have ever played but I enjoyed the difficulty for a change from my local courses down in central OH. Only knock I have is the greens were slow and some a bit marked up. The rangers were super nice and the hospitality overall was 10/10 definitely will come back next time I’m in Youngstown.
Great course, Great staff great condition
This course was terrific. Great nice Staff. Friendly and informative.
The course was in pretty good shape. Most of the greens were in great shape. Players should fix ball
Marks on the greens even if it is not theirs. Pace of play was good. I was a single. Multi groups let me play through and I finished in 3 hours. Would play again. Plus I got a hot deal and paid $23.
Great trek. Country Club style course but for public play
The staff is very nice and polite. Love Joe the Marshall. So nice and had great conversation with. Course is in great shape. All areas. Tee box, fairways, rough and greens. Maybe players need to take sand traps and repair greens.
Still putts run true and the stimp is about 10-11
