Great resort course
I played the South before but never the north. Loved it. I played during the week and set up was wonderful. Easy to get to cart and driving range was close to #1 Tee box. Lots of wildlife the day I played. Course is challenging.
Fun Track, Cranky Customers
This is a heavily played track in Kalispell that has a nice ambience to it, and a fun track. I'm not sure if Whitefish Lake adds or detracts from that. It seemed more like the Lake of Death. Despite the heavy play, they keep it in really good condition from tee to green. Water comes into play on a few holes, and there are some elevation changes to contend with. The bizzare thing is the cranky clientele. I've never seen so many people get so upset over mildly errant shots. It's a golf course people! They're to be expected. All in all though, well worth the play.
Great Course, Beautiful Views
This is one of my favorite courses to play in the Flathead Valley. Holes 7 & 8 are great and there are many holes with great views of Big Mountain. Course was in good shape for late July and the lack of precipitation the course has had in recent weeks. Greens were great and were quick.
My only concern is there aren't great water fountains on the golf course. some are out of the way for walkers and aren't the best quality. Halfway house also closed at 3 PM on a warm day. If you are walking during their twilight period (which is a great price), bring water.
