East/South Golf Course at The Legends of Massillon
About
There are 27 holes of championship golf available at the Legends of Massillon. This popular club consistently ranks as one of the top public golf courses in the state. The holes are divided into three nines called the East, North, and South. The Legends originally opened as an 18-hole golf course and when another nine was added, the three nines were divided into six holes from the original course and three new holes each. The nines can be played in three different 18-hole combinations. You'll be tested with strategically placed bunkers and water hazards no matter which golf course you choose. Water comes into play on 22 out of the 27 and there are more than 80 bunkers. The East/South combination has large, inviting greens and four sets of tees.

Best Course in area
27 holes total. Great course that was in great shape and well kept. Will play again for sure.
Legends
Legends always a good bet. Greens were challenging but great shape as usual . Still wish they would try to do something about the geese though, especially on the East course

Legends is a fantastic course. I love playing but when I can. It's a beautiful local course that is great for the golfer that likes to reach out a little farther with his driver. Plenty of long holes with not much to hit between tee and green. For the hobbyists, It's a course that you can easily use Find your ball on every shot. It's also very scenic. I love the neighborhood the course runs through as well as the lightly wooded areas.
fell off a lil bit
Hadn't played the course in 2 years. it was in better shape last time I played. everything looked brown and burnt up. shame too because I love the layout. good challenge. plenty water and bunkers. get it back green again and I'll be back.
Love the layout
Usually on weekends this place is packed so the pace of play is a little slow. But, was able to do a full round in just over 3 hrs with 2 others. Love the layout of this course, it's wide open fairways along with some open water. My only critique is the large difference between back and white tees. Could've made the round more challenging if it was 6300-6400 yards vs the 6100 we played. But, I'll be back.
First time playing this course since early 2000's. Course was in very good condition. Forgot how much sand and water was on this course. Played 27 holes with our last 9 on the East course which had recently been aerated. Will be back next year with our group.
North/East Review
Legends of Massillon is a 27 hole facility, the course is modern, with lots of great holes. It was a lot of fun to play. The fairways are crazy narrow, but there is a lot of space on most holes and the rough wasn't too penal. Big mistakes must be avoided. Everything we saw was well maintained, some holes have a lot of bunkers, not all were full with new sand, but don't hit it in the bunker and you don't need to worry about it.
I will write my experience about the pace of play and the lack of awareness of the starters and rangers. It seems to be an issue from other reviews.
I played the Tuesday after Labor Day in the morning. We got out after a local league and couple of groups of visiting seniors. They sent everyone I saw on the practice green off on the same nine, and there was a substantial wait on the first tee. After the 3rd hole, I could only see the two groups in front of us, but play was horribly slow, we had to wait on every shot for the front nine. The groups were waiting behind us. Twice a ranger came by and nothing was done or said about the pace of play. When we made the turn in 2:50, I realized it was just the group that the two groups ahead of us were the ones slowing everyone on the course down. We skipped 10 and 11, played 12-18 in an hour and only saw one group on 17 as we teed off on 12 (5 open holes ahead, with 3 groups waiting on the 10 tee). As we played 16 we passed the 13th hole, there was a group on the green, one on the fairway, and two groups on the tee box waiting. I mentioned the issues to pro shop, just for them to be aware.
I understand trying to stick to the tee sheet, but if that means slowing play down for everyone else and while you have another 18 holes open is absurd. I would like to play this course again, but would be afraid to run into the same issues again.
Above Average course in the area
Tee time 10:16am golfnow $19. Standing in pro shop to pay at 10:10. Cashier talking to person checking out in front us talked for 8 mins. Proceeded to tell us we're late, starter was calling for you. I said, we've been standing in line for 10 mins so of course we're late. One down, time for the starter, walk out he says (my name)? I say yes sir how are you doing? "You're late." I repeat my rebuttal from earlier. He says I was in there a minute ago. I said funny I didn't see you the whole 10mins we were in there. He says I just sent a 2some out I'd appreciate it if your 2some joined. Well his sense of time must be off because he wasn't in the clubhouse "a minute ago" and the 2some wasn't "just sent out" because they were already in the green. After that, pace was brutal, albeit a holiday weekend. Course was very nice and I had time so it wasn't ruining my day. Rangers were flying all the course, but never stopped to address anything. If you can get past the starter, you'll have a good experience on the course. Oh the yardage on the cards are way off. Use a GPS on your phone for actual yardage.
Beautiful Leon wonderful greens friendliest staff around I will be back

Ranger are useless
Great course but it always seem to take approximately 5-6hrs to play 18 no matter the time of week or day we play. The Ranger are absolutely useless. They donabsolutely nothing to move the pace of play. In fact they do more to detour the pace by sending a single out behind 4-foursomes when the other side is wide open. Management seems to care less about the uselessness of their ranger which is why I will never recommend nor return to this muni again.
Great Condition
Just came up from Florida and was very impressed with the condition. Very good price. Well worth the price
Great course, it is big and long.
We played the East and the North course. Quite demanding. I found water and lots of sand. The 3 gentlemen I played with were patient and great sense of humor. They enjoyed golf and this course. The starter and other course employees were helpful and friendly.
Quail Hollow championship at Legends
Staff, food & Club House Fantastic. Air conditioning inside was great! Course constitutions on North & South Awesome. Amanda did a wonderful job fixing a tee time situation and getting our group of 4 off at scheduled time! "Thanks Dear". Course a little confusing on we're next to go but a regular helped us out and the signs are marked just farther apart than your used too, Thanks Jeff. On hot days it would be nice to have water on every 4 holes at tee boxes but yes one can plan ahead in Club house. Definitely recommend this Great Course look forward to playing the East side next. Hit them straight.
The Legends at Massillon
Great course! Pace was good, layout was enjoyable & course was in excellent shape! Everything was very good except sand traps need a little work! I will definitely play The Legends again & again! Thanks
love the layout
Always enjoy this course. The staff is always friendly. Like the layout. Only complaint is that the sand traps are nearly unplayable. They are mostly just hard dirt and rocks. They would be better to fill them in and plant grass in many of them.
Great course
The course was in great shape, staff was friendly and the starter was a cool dude! Played the North/South, will be back to try the East! Well worth the drive from Cuyahoga Falls!
