Not worth going as a tourist
Booked an affordable round of 18 with my son and by the time we paid for rentals and 2 sleeves of balls it was $600 Canadian. Golf Now advertised $69 plus a $30 fee for the free food and drinks which was ok with me. But when we rented clubs and a few balls it added up to be more than $350 Canadian. To top it off I rolled my ankle on 8 and could barely walk. I asked if we could raincheck the other 9,showed them my ankle and refused. It also is deceiving when you book as I assumed it was 18 hole course but is 9 that you do twice. Most 9 hole courses advertise 9 not 18.
30 bux for two beers
I love this course and have played it many times. It is the best deal in Cabo but.... You have to pay a $30 USD fee for tacos and beverages. Except my round finished at 3:30 PM and this is the second time there was no tacos. So I had my two beers and left. There is repairs going on at the pub and the attached pool in the resort. I will still play it again because I like the course and the staff are friendly.
Unexpected Fee
Be aware of the $30usd food and beverage charge. They say it’s in terms and conditions but I don’t see it anywhere. Otherwise, still the least expensive option in Cabo, just hate undeclared fees.
A Missed Opportunity for a Premier Golf Experience
My visit to Vidanta in Cabo, BCS Mexico left me contemplating the potential of what could have been a memorable golfing adventure, but unfortunately, it fell short in several key areas. Prospective visitors should brace themselves for an experience that seems more focused on extracting every possible dollar from tourists rather than providing a quality golfing experience.
Course Conditions:
Let's start with the course itself – while it promises an immersive experience amidst Mexico's natural beauty, the reality is a far cry from what you might expect. The lack of proper cart paths, replaced instead by bumpy dirt tracks, is a testament to the neglect this course has suffered. It’s clear that the maintenance budget is either woefully inadequate or improperly allocated.
Service and Hospitality:
The service and hospitality here seem to operate on a principle of maximum profit extraction. Be prepared for a compulsory $30 drink fee, an audacious charge that applies regardless of whether you choose to indulge in their beverages or not. This fee feels less like a service and more like a penalty for playing here.
Furthermore, the staff's demeanor often crosses the line from confidently assertive to uncomfortably aggressive. Their brand of machismo isn't just off-putting; it can feel downright threatening, contributing to an unwelcoming and hostile environment that detracts from the overall experience.
Value for Money:
Speaking of value, or the lack thereof, it's apparent that Vidanta is more interested in lining its pockets than providing a fair and enjoyable experience. Every possible opportunity to levy a charge is seized with gusto, leaving you feeling nickel-and-dimed at every turn.
Overall Impression:
The combination of poor maintenance, aggressive upselling, and an unwelcoming atmosphere makes Vidanta a place to avoid. There are countless other courses in Mexico that offer not only better value for your money but a more enjoyable and hospitable experience. It's disappointing to see such potential wasted, and one can only hope that the management will wake up to these glaring issues before it's too late.
In its current state, Vidanta doesn't just need improvement; it needs a complete overhaul in both infrastructure and attitude. Until then, I cannot recommend this course to anyone looking for a pleasant golfing experience in Mexico.
Decent Course For The Money !
I’ve been living here in Cabo for four months Golf is expensive. I found this track to be the best bang for your buck if you play more than three times a week.. if you’re vacationing one time/one week and looking to play a great track, try Solmar or Porto Los Cabos for a memorable golf experience. GolfNow always has the best prices for this course but I don’t like they impose a $30 fee when you check in for food in Beverage even if you’re not hungry or don’t drink.
Only reasonable priced golf in Los Cabos area
The cost of golf in Los Cabos has become obscene. This course is the only one I know of that you can play for less than $150. There is NO driving range so your warm up is into a net. Pace of play was slow. Sand traps were hard and need more sand, which should be easy considering the many miles of beaches in the area. There is only 9 holes so you go around twice, which makes for better scoring on the second 9. I classify this course as a B grade muni.
Michael and Keith golfing
Had a great time playing ....met some nice folks on the course and staff was friendly and helpful. We definitely return .
First timer
Course was in great shape. We had no issues with the property or personal at the course. The all inclusive food and drink wasn’t spelt out completely, there is a limit on the food and drink and that wasn’t spelt out in the time of booking it. Only food they had was breakfast burritos or tacos, I like both of them.
A little bit more of variety would have been nice. Other than that it’s a great deal and I’ll definitely come back
Great experience
Definitely great value for your money for any level of golfer .Considering cost of other golf courses in the area you can’t beat it.
There is the extra food charge which is mandatory , but it is well worth the cost as you are served essentially unlimited refreshments, whether alcoholic or nonalcoholic, and the meal is excellent with plenty of snacks in between if you so desire.
Slick Clubhouse with helpful and friendly staff.
I will certainly book this course on future visits.
On a side note OK, considering the rental cost of $60 US per 18 holes for a set of clubs , you may want to bring your own.
fun day
course good condition, great staff, overall great day
standard price = $99.00
golfNow price = 69.00
required green fees = $30.00
cost = $99.00
Good Enough To Stay Active On
Not a gem by any means. No practice range, greens are below average. Fairways are rough, and no sand in any of the traps. More like crushed stone. If you’re looking to practice your game and stay sharp, it’s pretty much the cheapest course in Cabo you can play. If you want a nice course, you’ll have to pay $275 or more. Don’t have high expectations here, just be glad you’re swinging a club and it’s not 10 below zero!
