What is a great layout is sorely suffering from neglect. Save your money until the owner decides to invest in maintaining the course. Despite good spring rains the fairways are half dirt. Bunkers appear to have not been worked in years. Greens suffering from zoysia infestation due to sloppy aerifcation. Pace of play glacial. Stuck behind a sixsome on a Saturday.

No water on the course but hey, they did put two bottles of warm water in the carts. Good luck to the owner restoring this course; it was a gem. But for now, unless the rates drop to $19 save your money.

The course was very dry. No one was watering . The fairways were brown and the greens had patches of dead turf.

The greens looked as if they had not been mowed in several days. The cup had an inch of grass growing into the top . It had not been mowed in a while.

The tee boxes were dry and the markers had not been moved for several days causing big areas with no grass.

We were disappointed in the lack of maintenance .

I would not recommend the course to a friend in the current condition.

Walked today, a bit warm AND a bit of a hike, but all good. I enjoy this course, the more I play it, the more I appreciate the architecture, routing and scale. Greens are growing in well and fairways allow for a full swing though one side, or other, is preferred.

This course was awesome! The views were spectacular.

Miguel was working the club house and was spectacular. He really made us feel like guests. This man needs a raise

Someone needs to train the greens crew on how to take care of the greens.

An otherwise challenging and beautiful course is degraded by the sloppy use of the mowers’ in attention, carelessness, or inexperience.

They greens were cut too short in several locations and have burnt spots in many of the greens.

Hopefully, this is being addressed already by the course superintendent.

And one other critique while I’m at it,

The bunkers definitely need some attention.

Many are weed filled and needing sand.

Otherwise a demanding but fair course...

I've played here some years back and it the course was in good shape. It seems now that it has been neglected some what. None of the sand traps were playable and the fairways were very hard and in need of water. The course has a great layout but needs some care.

We like this course, not enoughgrass on fairways (its early spring). Greens are in good shape tho they just got aerated. Nice layout , staff is always friendly ..

I have been playing this course since it first opened. The layout is challenging. However, after my round today, I won't be coming back unless I can see significant improvements. Granted the time of year no course will be in its best shape. But my experience from the time I checked in until finishing my round was very disappointing. The course could be one of the best courses in the San Antonio area.

The employee working the counter was not welcoming. I was undecided on if I would play and asked him about the weather. He would not let me look at the radar on his computer and did not attempt to find one. His only response was don't come behind the counter, the price of the round and it was going to be cloudy. Hesitantly I paid for the round. Needless to say, it rained most of the day during my round.

As for the course, there was no sand in the bunkers. Many of the greens had been vertical cut but the residual grass from the cut was not picked up. The overall rating of the greens would have to be 5/10. On hole #12 and #13, the cups and pins had been removed so I had to hit blind shots to the green not knowing where the pin placement was.

I sure hope the spring is good to this course, sand is place in the bunkers, and the greens improve. This time of the year I can understand dormant fairways, rough, tee boxes, and greens. The green fee for this course is to high for the shape that it is in.

Nice course in the middle of beautiful Texas hill country. Friendly staff and great value.

Hidden gem, the layout and the views are very nice. Lots of wildlife and peace and quite. The fairways are kinda tight, the bunkers are interesting but if you hit’em straight they won’t be an issue. I will return to play it again...

A little more maintenance on the greens and bunkers and this place would be incomparable...

Hot but I like the challenge of the course. It better in the fall months as that’s when I played there last time I would go again. Food in their clubhouse was awesome
