Reviews
Great Value
If you are having a poor round, the views will take your mind off of it. The course is well worth the drive of 1.5 hours. The course in very good shape and greens are fast. I will return in the future.
Picturesque Course
This was a great first time outing to Concan. The course was in good condition, very picturesque, and the weather a little cooler than San Antonio's. Better hit the fairway because the rough is unplayable and there are few areas where there are adjacent fairways. I lost six balls. The rates are fantastic even if I had a long travel to get to the site. I highly recommend the course and would play it again without hesitation
Really Nice Track
This is a really nice Golf Course. There's a lot of very scenic holes, lotta wildlife, and intriguing holes. The course is in good shape. The only thing they need is to put new sand in traps and keep them a little more manicured. Greens are ok, I've seen em better. More rain and better maintained should cure that. I enjoy this track. If you play from the back tees, you better bring it off the box unless you like hitting long irons and hybrids. The breakfast tacos weren't good at all, though I'm not gonna judge a course off food. There are yardage markers in fairways and also on sprinkler heads in fairway. Someone on here said there weren't but there are.
Great track
Great course layout. Course was in good condition. We had a great day.
Worth the trip
126 slope from the Senior Tees! Come on Bechtol!
Course is really long. Almost 7000 from the middle tees and a 507 yard par 4 from the back.
Overall worth the drive but it is out of the way and not easy to find even when you get to Concan.
Course is a little ragged as they have finally received some rain.
But, every hole is better than the one before. If you want pristine conditions this course isn't for you right now but if a trip out west for some fun, inexpensive golf it is.
Awesome course with some nice challenges
The Club at Concan is one of the few courses within two hours of travel of here. The course is very well taken care of and the staff is very friendly.
Not a link style course
One of the main reasons I wanted to give this course a try was to play a links style like I had heard it was however that isn't the case. The only qualifying feature to that would be the amount of bunkers they laid out on each hole. This course wasn't spectacular in any aspect really, but as far as a hill country course goes this is one of the best. The number one thing that bothers me was there were distance markers along the fairways except for small stones laid out in the middle of the fairway that you have to drive right over them to see them. All in all I played this course as a father's day gift to my dad, and we both enjoyed an upkept course that played quickly.
Well Worth the Drive
Nestled in the Texas Hill Country - Concan could be very well taken as a resort course, but it's far more than that. The staff were friendly, courteous and very attentive. The course was challenging from the "Harper's Tee's" making some par 4s seem like par 5s and making you reach for the hybrid on the par 3s. The courses rolling fairways make for some challenging shots, but still enjoyable for all skill levels. The greens were a little thin, however; very playable and very fast. You have to be careful with wayward shots. If hit into the "native" vegetation you need to just let it go because most of the area is a protected wildlife preserve. They were doing some renovations at the course at #13 front fairway bunker (easily carried with a tee shot and not in play for intermediate or advanced players) and #15 "Baby Falls" Tee Box and were really no issue during play. The course is on a resort so there is an occasional "Five-some", however; with the attentive staff they were always making sure that play was never hindered. I loved that several of the tee boxes have stations with fresh fruit (apple and oranges) and bottled water on ices for the players and guests. So if you are looking for a challenge or want to see some beautiful views while taking in a round, you need to come here! I definitely will be returning in the very near future!
Great layout
Very nice course layout and design. Generous fairways with good coverage of grass. Tight approaches into well defined greens require accurate iron shots. Maybe a tad too many sand traps for amateurs. While there, I was told they are going to reduce the number of traps.
Course could use some rain, just like the rest of this part of the country. Some rain could make this course green & lush. Has lots of potential.
Employees were refreshing, friendly, caring and very helpful, particularly Paula Elliot in the pro shop.
More improvements
Showed up for 740 ttime but not open, man standing outside apologizes and introduces himself, just bought the course, he has done Briggs ranch, cordiella ranch and is doing the grass for the Olympics in Brazil . I expect some great conditions changes to an already awesome course. Views are incredible!
Be prepared for some long par 4s
course needs water!
course needs water, fairway are thin and dry... greens need to be cut and need water... greens are almost unplayable....
Conan golf course great
Great course , friendly staff .really good greens. Tift eagle greens
Beautiful and Challenging
If you miss the fairways on this beautiful Hill Country course start reaching for a new ball because the other one is GONE!!!
This course has great features
It's long an tons of sand, but very forgiving if u keep it in the fair way. Greens r big n excellent , great course to play.
Great overall; well maintained
Great course. Well maintained, fast greens. Lots of bunkers with pretty steep banks. Stay out of 'em. My 2nd time to play there. Great both times.
A true hill country course with a taste of links rough.
Although a bit of a drive from San Antonio, the scenery, staff and conditions of the course made it worth the drive. Not only are the staff friendly and courteous but so were the members I encountered. For a hill country course the fairways and greens are very well maintained and the bunkers are very challenging.
This course is a lot of fun.
Overall Thoughts on course
Fairways were a bit tight and somes greens were a bit bumpy but speed on all greens was consistent
