Hidden Gem
Timber Pointe is a really good golf experience about an hour west of OHare. Great tees, fairways, bunkers and very fast but receptive greens are waiting. Challenging set up with 4 sets of tees. Lots of trees and tall grasses. Length isn’t as important as hitting it straight.
If you don’t mind the drive down 90, Timber Pointe is worth the travel.
Played with 2 other singles in less than 4 hours.
Well taken care of
This course is beautifully manicured with great views. Also very forgiving for all levels of golf players
High school golf coach needs to step up
It appeared that the scrubs not playing in the match were in the practice area adjacent to #17. It was an unnecessary display of yelling and screaming. Totally inappropriate for those on the course. Etiquette should be a primary objective for young golfers. Shame on you coach!
Mid Week Round
Fun course. Started off rough. No carts. So teed off 10 min late. Little TLC and course could be much better.
Great hideaway Track❣️
We loved it and will be back to play TP again soon !
Nice course
This is a nice course, if your up near Rockford,,
Just wondering why GolfNow charged me a $59. 00 service charge?
Nice course
This course was worth the hour drive. Great layout. Narrow fairways on the first few holes then opens up. Greens were in good condition. Overall a solid course. Will play it again.
Slow play no marshall
Too many twosome for a Saturday. A foursome in front of us must have had two open holes
Fun laid back course, good layout.
I love playingtat the pointe. The staff is some.of the best staff I've ever encountered at a golf course. Super friendly and accommodating. The course itself is a fun layout with a good mixture of holes and good mix of water. Bunkers, trees and different dogleg left and right.greens were in good shape and have average speed. Its a fun track, and has a pretty laid back type atmosphere, which for me makes a more fun round. It's not like a country club type feel. It is reasonably priced as well and some great food as well. I would recommend giving it a shot if your in the area.
Great course with great rates
My experience with Timber Pointe has always been great. The course is always well kept, and the staff has always been great. The rates are fantastic, especially for 18 and under golfers playing 18 holes.
Great October conditions....except
Almost perfect conditions for October. Friendly staff. The only real problem we had here is that they allow spectators which always makes for a long round especially when you're following it. A foursome with 3 carts just seemed to make them play slower. Plus, I think they they thought they were good? It was quite frustrating. All in all a good course, just a bit of a purist when it comes to etiquette and when a course promotes poor etiquette it leaves a bad taste. Maybe you'll have a different experience.
Slow play, bumpy ride
Course was ok, cart paths virtually non existent. A few holes were awkward to see and the routing was difficult for first timers. Bar was nice, barkeepers were busy with the phone too often to provide excellent service.
Wow! My new favorite course in Illinois
Staff went absolutely above and beyond for my friend and I. I picked a bad day and it rained heavily for 2 hours. Staff ensured I could have full refund but also let me delay my tee time until it cleared. When it did they sent us out with large towels to ensure we could keep everthing dry.
The course was amazing, play your level and pick the tee that suits of the 5 running. I played second longest. Normally expect boring old length being the main challange but a very strategic course. Some shorter some long but plenty of risk reward shots on offer. Forget about just pulling driver you have to think your way around this one. A great mix of well placed bunkers with very well maintained waste areas, some trees, long grass, proper rough cuts and plenty of fairways winding through it all. Top marks on all fronts! How did I play here for $20 with cart! Forget the $100 country clubs with there ridiculously manicured greenery and not enough thought to the game itself (believe me I've played many of them). Get out there and play this place, I will definitely be back!!!!
