Phenomenal Course!!
I played TIC on Sunday for the 3rd time. My assessment of the course remains the same as my first round. Unbelievably beautiful, clear demonstration of Jack Nicklaus' off the charts golf IQ, challenging enough to kick your fanny before you realize it, but still very fair. It reminds me a bit of TPC Snoqualmie, another Nicklaus design. I've played some great courses around the country and in Scotland and these Northern Idaho area courses are absolutely awesome. Pace of play is clearly slowed down by the number of lost balls that will happen to just about everyone. If I lived here full-time, I'd have a tough time choosing a membership between TCI and the CdL Resort Course.
Hidden Gem in North Idaho
If you have not heard of the Idaho Club near Sandpoint, Idaho, you have missed a great course. A Jack Nicklaus designed course with the lower Pack River running through this pine forest is simply beautiful. The course is challenging and long. worth every minute to get here, recommend you stay for a day to enjoy Lake Pend Orielle (pronounced Ponderay) and the small town of Sandpoint.
Fun in Idaho.
The first time playing at the Idaho Club. The course was absolutely fantastic and in great condition despite the weather. The staff were wonderful especially the gentleman at the gate. The only surprise was that it was no other option for food and drinks as the clubhouse as there was a wedding about to happen. We had to wait for the cart girl to come back to be able to get a drink. However other than that it was a fantastic course and we highly recommend people visiting Idaho to check out the Idaho Club.
Well-kept, somewhat hidden Gem
Loved it!! Got rained out on #12, but going back on Sunday with sunshine and 78 forecast. Very challenging with lots of pretty decent carries across wetlands, native areas. Greens aren't easy, but are fair. Stunning views!!
Beautiful course but unfair greens.
The course is beautiful and was in good shape but the undulation on the greens is unfair given their size. Other Nicklaus courses I’ve played before have had plenty of undulation but the greens are much larger to accommodate the slope. GPS on the carts for that price would aid in keeping people on pace as well as. Knowing distances to hazards and direction of hole as well as seeing what is around the greens would be incredibly helpful!!
I loved it
I loved the Idaho Club. Course is very challenging and the greens in particular are mostly small with a lot of undulation. If your not within about 10-20 feet your putt will likely break at least 2 different directions. You need to be within 10 feet and in the right position to have a straight putt. Greens were true and fast, best i have putted on in awhile
Fairways are tight, and par 3s are scenic. A few tee boxes are way back, but wort visiting for the view. Lots of forced carries and even more marsh and ponds left or right. Most of the holes have some dogleg to them, both right and left.
The did not have a lot of play the day i played, but…one group of 12 out for a bachelor party let me go ahead on the first tee - thanks guys. Ran into a logjam on 11 (I played the front in an hour). A threesome let me join them and we waited for the 4 some in front of us on every hole. Apparently they were members who were notorious for playing slowly.
Still had a great time. Its a bit remote but for me, worth the drive from CDA
Only Nicklaus designed course in the state of Idaho
Great course, a little pricey, but nice. If you don't hit straight, bring a lot of balls. It's a hard course, water on 16 holes. Everyone should play it at least once.
Not for the faint of heart!
Not for the faint of heart, but absolutely beautiful, lay out scenery, course conditions including greens, incredible.
Too Expensive
You can play twilight at sand hallow, the best public course in Utah for $90. Let that sink in. For $200 I’ll play wolf creek. Go to Michigan and play some Arnold Palmer courses for $70. Idaho club is too challenging for its price so no one ever plays.
Over Priced.
I have played a few of his courses growing up, but never paid anywhere near what I did at Idaho club. For a few more bucks I can go to CDA course. This course to me is worth $80 -$120 like Sand Hallow in Utah. I’d rather pay a $90 rate after 3pm multiple times a year bs only playing once based on sticker shock of the price. COME ON MAN!
Tough course
If you’re 200 yard senior driver like me, you might want to play the reds on some of the long carry water holes. I could clear them from the whites.
Crazy Greens
It's a pretty course and it's in nice shape, but other than that I wouldn't recommend. It's expensive and overly difficult - especially the greens. Be prepared to 3 putt a lot, maybe even 4 putt.
Annaul Round here...
Always lush green fairways and decent rolling greens. This is a difficult course, lots of dounke trouble around the greens and the greens themselves are sloped and rolly-polly. You will have one (or more) three putts. Beautiful course and setting!
Post card perfect
More than I expected. At first I thought how can a course clear out here charge so much. After playing it it’s a bargain. More scenic than anything in Phoenix(including the boulders) downside it requires alot of skill to play well. Not a hackers course. Well worth the trip.
Bring your "A" game!
The Idaho Club golf course is a beautiful place to spend the day with your friends. The Pro shop has some very nice apparel. The course was in top condition and the beverage cart came by very often. The course is a difficult one with water on almost every hole. The rough is deep and the greens are fast, so... bring your "A" game.
