Idaho's natural beauty shines through on its golf courses. While Coeur d'Alene is famous for its summer recreational pursuits on the lake and its top golf courses, Sun Valley mixes the best of all seasons with snow sports in the winter and nice public golf courses in summer.
GolfPass releases a Top 5 Public Golf Courses in Idaho every year thanks to YOU. We create our annual Golfers' Choice lists by curating the reviews submitted by everyday golfers. We use GolfPass' Ratings Index logic that weights newer reviews and combine it with a course's subcategory averages.
Each course needed at least one review and at least some public access to qualify.
We make our Golfers' Choice best-of lists user friendly. Simply click on the photo of each course to learn more about the facility or to book a tee time (in most cases).

Best Public Golf Courses in Idaho

TimberStone Golf Course
Green fee: $47-$52
What they're saying: "Was visiting Boise from Southern California and am so glad I was able to play this course. Great layout (played the tips) and amazing condition from tee to green, cups were cut crisp with nice edges. Would have been more than happy to pay double what the rate was. Great course!" - geoffsumpter -
Jug Mountain Ranch Golf Course
Green fee: $46-$78
What they're saying: "The course was beautiful and we were not held up on pace of play at all even with the delayed frost start. The staff was professional and welcoming and the greens keepers work extremely hard to maintain this course’s beauty. This was at the top of my list for golf courses in Idaho. We were able to complete a full round in 4 hours with a foursome." - GolfPass Reviewer -
Circling Raven Golf Club
Green fee: $109-$219
What they're saying: "The Palouse is a distinct geographical region only found in parts of north central Idaho and southeastern Washington. It is a major agricultural area, primarily producing wheat. It also produces one of the starkest contrasts on a golf course I’ve ever seen. The lush green fairways, bordered by amber waves, melting into a big, blue Pacific Northwest sky is majestic." - BrandonWebb -
The Idaho Club
Green fee: $75–$95
What they're saying: "This is a gorgeous course at any time of year, but on a warm Fall day… IDEAL! There was hardly anyone out, so the pace was fabulous! 3.5 hours for 18 holes on this course is very fast! Make sure you check to see whether or not the restaurant is open and the drinks cart is operating - this day it was not. That was a bit of a disappointment since I could have used some liquid courage over some of the water hazards! Other than that, what a beautiful day!" - kharlicker -
Coeur D'Alene Resort Golf Course
Green fee: $290
What they're saying: "My brother and I played here in 2022 and had so much fun we decided to come back in 2024. Everyone and everything is awesome! Course conditions were phenomenal. Our caddies, Steven and Casey, were great. The pro shop guys were incredible nice! Lori, the boat captain who drives you to/from the floating green, was super. We played 36 holes in one day and loved every minute of it. We would recommend this course to everyone. Even though it's a resort course, there are a few holes that will "eat your lunch"." - clayjok
