River Ridge Golf and Country Club

About
River Ridge Golf & Country Club is tucked away amid mature forests that sit along the southern bank of the North Saskatchewan River. With the river embankment to one side and groves of towering trees enclosing it on the other, the golf course feels peacefully isolated. It's a great spot for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city, you would never even guess that it was within the city limits. The golf course has some challenging holes but overall it's player friendly enough for all skill levels to approach with confidence. Water is a prominent feature on the layout with four lakes and several ponds coming into play. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The golf course nicely balances playability with interesting challenges, making River Ridge a popular choice for casual, mixed-level outings and company tournaments.

It's okay
This course has a lot of "odd" holes on the front nine. Very narrow with lots of hazards in odd places. While challenging , they are not necessarily a good test of golf. The back nine is a much more enjoyable experience. The course was in pretty good shape considering they are getting ready to put it to bed for the winter.
tee off was too late, didn't get 18 in, shouldn't have let us book that late and have a slow pace of play. no refund or coupons offer. not impressed.
Not impressed by management. Tee off for 18 should have time to finish it.
Beautiful river valley course.
Played River Ridge in August 2013 and had been eyeing it for some time, waiting for the right deal/date. We ended up booking on the same day as a tourney so it kept things more casual which was preferred by my foursome. The course is challenging but pristine I must say. Cart attendant came by at least four times (rare, in my opinion) and checking in was very cordial (not always the case when booking via golfnow). The marshal was also helpful at the first and 10th holes. The dirt paths were dusty but nothing one can't handle when the sun is shining. Will definitely return.
River views
Beautiful river views on many of the holes. Scenic course. Easy to get to - just off main freeway. Could use more signage for getting to holes. Had an experienced, average, & beginner in our party, & we all enjoyed the course.
best part are the greens
very nice greens and lots of water here including the north saskatchewan river.
Average golf experience
Nice location in the River Valley and reasonably well maintained. We were delayed in teeing off by a thunder storm so the course was wet and there were several areas where course repairs were being made. Front nine plays very short from the white boxes and the drives stays in the bag on most holes, but the back play much longer and is more forgiving for stray tee shots. Overall was a pleasant round of golf with frequent visits from the cart girl.
front 9 very challenging
challenging course with lots of water in play. Greens in excellent condition. Recommend a cart-long distance between some holes
Course experienced flooding damage but is in great shape.
The course experienced water damage but has recovered excellently. Electric carts were great.
