Whispering Pines, Pine Lake, Alberta
Enjoyable day and the course was in good conditions. There are plenty of challenges and rewards.
The course has awesome views!!
Should have special prices, to bring more people out to play, include the dining at the clubhouse with the beautiful patio views of the lake :) in these prices.
Fair course
The signage was very poor! No signs where to go to the next hole. Had only been on the course for less than 3 1/2 hrs doing 18 holes and were asked to get done sooner. We were at the 16 hole and waited for others ahead of us pretty much the whole 18 holes. Thought he was a bit rude!
nice course
overall was great round besides the rain filled up sand traps and holes . also couple greens were partially aerated . wasnt informed before i started but for 13 $ for 18 and cart can't complain.
Great coarse
This coarse is in beautiful condition greens smooth and fast all though pin placement can be tough. The views on some of the holes are beautiful. Pro shop and lounge staff very friendly and efficient and food very good.
The coarse is in excellent condition. Very tight fairways giving up a very challenging round.
Great value on golf now
Very pleasant course, good early season conditions, very friendly staff. Some challenging holes especially if the wind is up. Lovely views of the lake and the day we played it felt like we had the course to ourselves. As a twosome we finished in under 3 hours without rushing. Using golf now hot deal we played 18 with a cart, shared a lunch and each had a beer for approx 60$ total. Great value. We will be back soon.
Course has good features with excellent clubhouse
About the only thing wrong was the greens need to be cut shorter as they are fairly slow. All other conditions were excellent.
Good price and quality
I was totally satisfied this course.
Everything was good.
First round of 2017
Enjoyed my first round of the year with my 12 year old. Pro shop guy was friendly and easy going and my boy and I had a great round. We were done in just over 3 hours. Will go back again after school with my boys.
Awesome
A little gem. Well worth the 20 min drive from red deer. Opened earlier than most. Greens were fantastic
MIght as well play through a city neighbourhood
Played here a couple of years ago and the front 9 had a trailers throughout, but today it looks like they are turning it into a city neighbourhood. Houses everywhere lining the course. Signs warning you that you hit a house your responsible. Large fences all over. Both of us are good golfers and hit reasonably straight If you cannot hit straight avoid this place. My biggest complaint is driving over an hour to play a course advertised along a lake and expecting the scenery and ambience for a nice relaxing game. That it isn't. Won't ever come back. There are so many other nice courses in central Alberta that far surpass this place.
fair course
Course is fair for all skill levels but if you hit slightly off you could hit a home just off the fairway. Homes lining the fairway can be a little unnerving a times.
Nice Course
We played 18 holes, the first 9 were a little slow for pace, but the second nine was great.
golfing Whispering Pines
On many holes as you wind through various housing areas, targets are more important than just hitting for max distance
Precision is a must
Played this course for the first time today. The course is in very good shape but the layout is challenging. The front nine literally weaves it's way through the neighborhood and requires a very precise shot. The houses are way too close to the fairways on the right side, and some way too close to the back of the green. Golfers will be fine if the now exactly where all there shots go precisely or don't care that they will likely hit a house/RV/ or person on their deck.
Note: I only got to the 12th hole before I saw lightening, and stopped my game. A raincheck for the remaining holes was issued and all the staff were helpful. I really did not enjoy how close the houses were to fairways.
This course has great features
The course was in great shape for this time of year. Pace of play was slow today, but that was expected. It was a hot Saturday afternoon.
Nice layout
Used every club. Very scenic tee shots. Greens were immaculate. Really enjoyable round.

Alot of challenges packed into a fairly short track. Definitely have to be thinking about whether to leave the driver in the bag on a few holes.
