Surprising not a premier course
Overall experience was not very good. We were very excited to play this course for some time now. We get there and there is no driving range, rather a couple of rotten old nets to hit into. Went to have some practice putts, and the putting green was like shag carpet and half dead. The warning about some of the par 5's where you have to tee off with a 5 iron then hit a 3 wood is very true and sad. Tee boxes were marginal as most were covered in sand. Also our 10 year old daughter was with us and they stung us with another 30 dollar rider fee... Anyway, we did really like 10-12 holes and the signature is a beauty! Next time we will continue to Squamish or Whistler and pay the little extra.
Best part for sure are the views!
Great day- golfed a few years back and see that it probably needs a bit of a refresh - but love golfing there! Only complaint were the golf cart display did not display English- even after asking for help and rebooting it kept going to a different language- frustrating not being able to use the system in our 🇨🇦 language..but overall great day!! Pace was perfect and the food at the grill was awesome!
Furry funk
As an experience for someone who’s never visited BC or Vancouver the course has some great vistas, but is it worth the $150? In a word - No.
Why? Tee boxes have more sand than grass. Marshall’s drive around but don’t enforce “speed of play.” Power carts crap out as mine did on the front 9 but Pro shop gave only a $15 refund, claiming that’s 50% of the fee?
Spectacular Views
I have lived on the coast all my life and have never played a course with such amazing views of Howe Sound. Pebble Beach does not hold a candle to Furry Creek. However, the food leaves much room for improvement.
Beautiful course, but some of the worst condition tee boxes I’ve ever played
Major issue - the tee boxes were pretty much all sand. For 125$ a round it was truly embarrassing the shape they were in. I should’ve gone back to the clubhouse at the end of the round and asked for a partial refund. I slipped multiple times on tee boxes because I was just standing in sand instead of any turf.
Beautiful and fun course to play. Great layout and amazing views. Rolling hills and elevation changes brings up a lot of shot strategy.
Stunning !
Stunningly beautiful with some very interesting layouts.
A few typical holes but mostly accurate target golf is the call, as long, short, left or right is a bye-bye ball.
I chose the wrong course to play poorly at as the layout is VERY unforgiving, I will return to exact my revenge!
If your a 12 handicap or higher play the whites, some of the blues are ridiculous!
The only downside is the green fee is very dear which is the only thing that would stop me playing there more. However, treat yourself as the views never disappoint.
First time - was great!
I played this course with my son for the first time. It reminds me of courses in the Okanagan versus courses around the Lower Mainland of BC. Very unique and not flat and straight. We had a great time & tons of laughs
Great course - chose your day time wisely
So context. I was solo, I chose the weekday and I knew the weather was going to be iffy. I got there and I was indeed a one ball. Was certain I would be "grouped" up. The proshop and starter were very nice. It started coming down by the 11th. Got soaked but had change of top and towels. The course is pristine. A few par threes feel like a cop out - pitch and putt BUT the view on a few of them are priceless. The marshal was great - saw her a few times during the round. The only gripe I'd have was that there were a few points that needed more signage for directions and there was nothing opened for food options half way through (the food and drinks cabins were closed) as was the restaurant. I finished at 16:00. The speed of play was good until the last three holes. Overall, I would come back to play here.
Fantastic Course
This was a challenging course to play. Only some of the Par 3 holes are short and less challenging. I loved to actually play hole 9 wellknown of the movie Happy Gilmore. We enjoyed the company of a former pro, now coach at university of Texas and Dallas.
Only critical point is that the ladies (red) tees are placed to far to the left on some holes and ladies are not able to play a full shot.
