Best course in Kelowna
I love this course; stunning views, tough but fun layout, and awesome twilight rates. It’s my favourite course in Kelowna, although it’s a little out of the way for me so I don’t play it too often. It requires accuracy, tactics and has lots of elevation change. My only issue today, which has nothing to do with the greens crews, was that people don’t repair there ball marks!! Brutal, ball marks everywhere!
Mixed
Really enjoyed the layout as most holes are different, course was in amazing shape and the starter was great. That's where my compliments end. Zero practice facility. Some greens are borderline rediculous. Other staff were arogant and wasn't sure if our golf cart was going to make it around the course and it was 5 hours without being in much trouble. Back nine was infested with some crazy large grasshopper bugs. Did I like it......yes. would I rush back to play again......not likely.
Beautiful course with great vistas of the valley. Challenging holes many changes in elevation. Links style with lots of fescew. Great conditioning. Appropriate values
Over Rated
Though it has spectacular views the course itself is overrated. No driving range, too many uphill/downhill shots, and tee shots requiring guesses on distance. It is my bias but I think golf courses should be walkable - not a chance at Tower Ranch. After the round ate in the restaurant - very average. It would be okay for a buddies trip but could not have a steady diet of this course.
Fantastic Test
Wow what a great course. Definitely a story of two different nines. First nine lots of rolling hills and sand. Back nine up high on the side of the mountain in the trees with some huge carries. Loved the back nine for the views but man it kicked my butt.
Great views with huge elevation changes
A very nice course with two distinct halves my favorite being the back 9 at the higher elevation. Excellent large undulating greens will test your putting skills. Nice cozy club house with good food and friendly staff. No driving range unfortunately just a couple of old nets. Two practice greens putting and chipping.
Kelowna's Finest butt-kicker and name taker
We treat Tower Ranch different that others.
Its Big.
Its Mean.
Its a twice a year humbling experience.
That more than often is a highlight round of the year!
Local rates on Thurs ( i think) 79$ with. its worth it.
Im a 8 HC, i shoot a 89 at Tower and Im happy as heck!
Take a long slow drive from the 17th green to the 18th blocks. Its a 270* panoramic view of heaven. The whole Valley, From Wood lake to mountain ranges to the south. Its a camera moment. A selfie with friends that WILL become your facebook profile pic instantly!
No range. Fair practice area,
Recently there has been a lot of construction in a development. I understand. But i prefer the second 9 away from the houses. Up in and around the gullies and hills. Beautiful stuff!
Wild life galore! deers, bears, coyotes, the whole shebang.
If your not good at golf. DONT GO HERE!
The Open Monday!
Tower Ranch is a well manicured course with challenging holes that have character. Elevation changes offer nice views and greens that test your yardage.
Afternoon wind can pose more challenges to your round especially at the tricky par 3s.
TR has a nice club house and restaurant, putting green, but missing a driving range. Most higher end courses around have a range (Tobiano, Predator, etc. I assume that they are going for that level of prestige and attention. To get that you have to have everything and more.
Played the course on a Monday and obviously a busy weekend had lots of workers around the course, it was a little much.
Staff was friendly and we all gathered around in time to see Zach win the Open before heading out.
I'd like to say the course has done a great job with the extraordinary dry season to keep things green.
Will be back at some point, worth playing.
Tower is tough
Great views great shot values and some very memorable holes! No driving range really hurts this course because you need to prepare to play here, it's tough. Caters to its members which means you'll pay $100 to play here. Is it worth it, probably not but in a city that commands $100 a round more often than not, it's the one course here that can actually justify it because the course is that good. If you can get this course on a twilight rate for $75 take it, at that price it's the best you'll get in the Okanagan!
Excellent challenge
The biggest issue was the distracting views!
Tower Ranch is a challenging course, but entirely playable by golfers of all levels - if one selects the appropriate tees. Tee shots are clearly key, but the course outlines the optimum targets very well.
Greens were fast and true - rewarding good putts and chips.
Don't miss this gem on next visit.
Did I mention the views?
That just makes me want to play there even more than I already do! For me, a round of golf means appreciating the setting to the max. If I'm lucky, I'll card a handful of Pars and I'm sure I'll lose plenty of golf balls too. But I've been humbled aplenty. Played Bear Mountain once. Lost 17 golf balls. Didn't care. :)
