Cottonwood Golf Course

Cottonwood, located along Nanaimo Airport is a medium quality course, moderately close to town, for a slightly over medium price. I've played this course many times over the years. I've never been disappointed but I've also never been blown away. They have a few memorable holes which I enjoy but a lot of them feel as though they were squeezed in to the footprint of the land as opposed to designed intentionally. Unless they've improved the drainage, I'd also class them as a fair weather course. In the last 4-5 years, I've only played there in spring or summer so it may be better now. If you can get a deal like the BC Lung Association book or twilight rates then I'd consider it a good price.

This course is good value and fun to play. The staff are great. They could use more greenside bunkers.

I liked the course and is easy on the wallet. The layout is OK but quite restricted by the size and shape of the property. The greens are usually pretty good. As an added bonus, you can play year round.

over all alot of fun easy walking ...the green is in rough shape at this time looks like the greens have blite which has being treated....

We have had very wet conditions as of late and I found that the course was not as wet as I expected. I have been there before; other years and it was a lot wetter so I think that there has been some improvements. The course was in good shape in spite of the time of year. The cart path had pot holes that need to be fill in.
It was a damp drizzly day but a very good day for golf for me. I purchase the good deal golf now had for 18 holes but the tee off time only had 2 hours of daylight. I find the staff really appreciate their customers. I will go again

I have played here a lot and was surprised to see the greens as rough as there were. I would have given a better rating for the staff but the have a surly older gentleman as a players assistant and he's not very friendly.

It has been a long hot summer here and the greens have suffered very patchy and extremely slow. Took my son who is new to the game good place to practice
before a real golf course..

nous sommes en voyage de retraite et lors de notre séjour pres de nanaimo sur l'ile de vancouver, nous avons réservé le golf avec golfnow.com et le prix était excellent a 50 pour cent de rabais. le terrain était relativement bien ,mais ne vaut pas le prix réel de 50 dollars la ronde. les verts étaient percé et sablonner pour l'aération ce qui est normal a ce temps de l'année. en général un terrain correct pour 24 dollars mais pas 50. la boutique du pro est bien mais un peu petite .la salle a manger est jolie mais nous n'avons pas manger a cet endroit. le personnel est gentil et les employés sur le terrain étaient tres aimables. merci

great day in the sun course was in good shape and was a very enjoyable round. good walk around and lots of interesting holes.

Beautiful course with nice forest trails, airplanes taking off, challenging but reasonable. Got a great deal on golf now and we will definitely return when we see another deal. Food order was advertised on 8th hole for pickup after 9 but twice called and got restaurant voice mail. Resorted to quick pickup window for food but they only had one smokie and very limited beverage selection.

It was a great course first three holes nice and wide open good to get you warmed up for the rest of the course. It gets tighter as you go the of forest makes for a good challenge. Excellent course loved it.

Enjoyed playing cottonwood. Great value especially when booking thru golfnow. Greens are in awesome shape and for the most part accessible with a couple of challenging exceptions....

Some challenge, and some nice wide fairways. A great little clubhouse with really good food.

The course conditions were good - especially for this late in the season. There were a few novice golfers on the course that slowed pace of play and the course attendant wasn't very helpful in moving them along so we skipped a hole to bypass them. Overall a great value for the money and we'll be back.

This course has some very interesting features for every handicap level. Excellent drainage with tricky well groomed greens. The clubhouse personnel were very accommodating.

I've played this course 2 times now and have started to enjoy what it is about and how I (a golfer of sporadic decent play) can get the most out of it. Nicely contoured greens, ample but not club sucking rough and a few holes you will love to hate... 'tis a good thing.
Friendly staff, nice amenities and a pretty and peaceful place at sunset. Rewarding golf, good price...what can i say, it grows on ya..
