The overall condition of the course is below average
The speed of greens are different, the course is very muddy and wet, the grass condition is poor.
My home turf to improve and enjoy the game
I was fortunate to meet Andrew Wintraub who is a pro at Musqueam and get some really good instruction. I had taken a break from the game and knew I would have to work hard to get my game back in shape. Andrew seems to have a knack for making one or two suggestions or changes which are spot on for me. I have played Musqueam with Andrew and the learning experience was fantastic. I think this is an excellent course for what it is supposed to be. The driving range is great with very expansive stalls and lots of targets to aim at. The staff are very professional and friendly. The group that plays at Musqueam take it seriously and enjoy the game. i like the atmosphere cultivated here. I recommend checking out the golf instruction, range and have a go on the course.
Nice course for a great price
It was my first time at this course and I got a hot deal on Golfnow.com for $23 per person. Excellent value for the quality of this course. I will definitely go back.
Don't go
Very bad Golf Course.
The fairways were in bad conditions. Many elements werent uptodate, like the things you use to clean your golf balls. They didnt even have water in it.
I imagine why the course is like that. I saw a staff member watering the course while driving a Car. Never seen something like that.
I saw a guy playing with 5 balls......and many people who didnt have the minimun knowledge to play without being a risk for others.
Mediocre- Executive
Practice range is decent, but course is a VERY short executive. Hasn't rained in a while here so some fairways rolled like concrete. Par 4s were almost all drivable. Pace of play was horrendous, but expected for an Exeuctive on a Saturday I guess. No beverage carts in 30degree weather is also unacceptable IMO. Do not waste your money on a cart here. In this area Mccleary, Fraserview, langara represent better value at a slightly higher cost and are full courses. I gave them a 3 overall, but there was no option for a 2.5.
Inexpensive with lovely river views
For the most part, the greens and fairways are in good condition, but there are some areas that could use repair. The course offers both wide and narrow fairways, and a variety of greens. On some holes, wayward balls from another Fairway can present a hazard.
The course marshal was very adept at keeping the pace of play going. All in all an enjoyable afternoon and very good value for the price.
Fun track for the money
Musqueam is a decent little course. It's a par 60 with some challenging par 3's and short par 4's. Everything is flat with the exception of the greens, so it's an easy course to walk. Summer time can get pretty busy like most courses but they keep the conditions in check. Winter is a different story though. Although you rarely have anyone in front or behind you, the course gets quite muddy and wet due to poor drainage and it being right near the river. They offer great deals on GolfNow which is why I still play there during the winter, otherwise I'd prefer Langara or UBC etc. If you're looking for a small, challenging course thats walkable in 3 hours, give it a try and be the judge.
muddy.
Course needs work on drainage. Pace of play was OK, but the fairways were horrible. Poor to say it kindly.
A quick round
A good course to practice your game without breaking the bank.
Quick course
Great little course. Really helps works your game on the par 3's of all lengths.
For a Sunday, we finished our round in 2hrs.
First timer
Nice course, great value. I would certainly play here again. The food is also very good.
Musqueam golf course - mud and puddles
This is a short par 60 irons course with very poor drainage system. Rate of play was good as there were no one playing the course. This was my first time playing this course, I will not be back for round two. $40 for the round is absurd. Would pay $20 max. Not recommended.
