Great course
Played here for the second time in a couple of weeks. This time we played 18 and it was fun!! The only thing holding us two “recreational” golfers back was the foursome of 20 somethings that could hit the ball far but not once was it in the fairway!! They spent a lot of time looking for balls in the bushes and then took forever to putt. Marking and lining up every putt.
The Marshall was watching but didn’t seem to do anything about the slow pace of play.
Other than that, a great day of golf for my wife and I.
Wonderful Course. Worth the drive from The 'Peg!
It was our first time playing this course and we had a blast! Only played 9 holes but will be back soon to play the 18.
Great course, goofball marshall
This course is in very very good shape. Fantastic layout and if I was staying around Brandon I’d definitely book again through golf now.
That said, I would NEVER recommend this course on a wknd. Saturday especially. I’ll admit it was my first time here and it may have been a one off but the Marshall was driving around chit chatting with the group of 4 + 1 kid that somehow later on turned into 7 + 1 kid with the adults drinking and not letting a single group play through until the 16th hole.. we were 2 on a cart who typically play at a 2-2.5hr pace if it’s an open course and it took us almost 5hrs to play. 5hrs is not massively slow if your walking, I get that as well but EVERYONE in front of us and us all had carts here.. We ended up 3 groups behind this group of goofs and had at one point another 4 or 5 on our rear ends or starting to catch up. There was a group of 2 on a cart that were on the 1st green when we got done 9 and made the turn and they ended up stuck behind us on 14 tee, On top of all that l, this group finally let a few of us through on 16 and what does one guy do.. He takes a tee shot and misses me by 15yrds. Not only that when we were waiting on the 6th tee a group of 4 kids teed off on 4 and hit our cart 1.5ft above my head and NEITHER of these 2 groups yelled fore..
Bottom line is none of this would’ve happened if the Marshall have done his job and stop being a chatty Cathy and letting the extremely slow group hold us all up as we would’ve been playing at a decent pace the whole day..
Again this may have been a one off so I’d say the course itself is fantastic so if you go and it’s slow, I warned you.. if it’s a good pace you should really enjoy the play here..
Great condition
Great condition for beginning of May!! Keep up the great work, staff was fabulous
Happy Return.
I grew up playing the Wheat City Course from 1965-1973.
I always enjoyed it and thought it was a great course.
I moved to the West coast and among other things, was involved from grass roots from assembling 750 acres and working with Tom Fazio on a top ranked course. I was a golf course rater for years with Golf Week.
I returned to play the course in 2019 after the flood and was heart broken at seeing my first love. (Golf course)
I returned September 6 this year and what a pleasant surprise.
The course improvements and condition were above and beyond any expectations I had.
To those involved thank you. You are all to be highly commended. I would highly recommend playing this course.
Thank you for restoring great memories.
