What are the best public golf courses and hidden gems in Canada?
GolfPass' annual Golfers Choice ranking lists determines a top 25 by analyzing the ratings and reviews submitted by members of our community - golfers like you - throughout the previous year. We use GolfPass' Ratings Index logic that weights newer reviews and combine it with a course's subcategory averages. Courses must offer public access and have received at least two reviews in 2024 to be eligible for this year's list. Canada's most famous resort courses - the two links at Cabot Cape Breton, Fairmont Banff Springs and the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge - didn't receive enough reviews to qualify, so next time you play them, be sure to leave a review.

(The) Club Championship (was) held weekend before and (the) fairways were narrow & rough had been left uncut for over a week. Typical rough depth was 6-8 inches and very thick. Wheat City Golf Course

I moved to the West Coast and among other things, was involved from (the) grass roots (of) assembling 750 acres and working with Tom Fazio on a top ranked course. I was a golf course rater for years with Golfweek. I returned to play the course in 2019 after the flood and was heart broken at seeing my first love. (Golf course) I returned September 6 this year and what a pleasant surprise. The course improvements and condition were above and beyond any expectations I had. To those involved thank you. Red Lake Area Golf & Country Club

There's a bit of everything from doglegs in either direction to elevation changes in both directions, to some dead straight, albeit narrow, holes.
