Great course!
We got out early so no waiting but it was getting busy after we were done. The weather is fantastic and everyone wants to get the last games of the season in! Thanks Ironwood for for a great day on the links!!
November round
5 hours ... waiting on every tee. Good layout, and Considering playing in Movember, course was in good shape. Hit a tree on long par 3 #7, looking for ball 2 feet from pond and steppied into a hole, up to my knee....couldn’t see it because of leaves...home icing knee now. No Porto potty’s... women beware:)
Good course
Nice course and was in great condition. Will return
Poor pace of play
The course was in good shape but pace of play was poor need a ranger out there to wave ppl through or tell ppl to get moving
Easy Play Great Pace Good for Most
Enjoyed the day at Ironwood. The course is good for all. The tee blocks need some upgrade but its good. Decent clubhouse. Not overly challenging.
Worth a look.
Not my favourite
A little disappointed in this course. It was my first time playing it and won’t be in a hurry to return. While the grounds are green, the ground is rock hard and some tee blocks are solid crab grass. Staff in the clubhouse weren’t very friendly or welcoming. No washroom on the course - first course I think I’ve ever played that doesn’t have some sort of washroom facility throughout play.
Beautifully maintained course
Course is always a pleasure to play, would not consider my home course but have played it a few times. They could benefit from having a Marshall at this course as I have been there a few times where the pace of play is brutal. For example, getting stuck behind a fivesome on a weeknight where we should have been able to get 18 in but we spent more time waiting than playing. The staff they do have is excellent and always a pleasure.
Course in great condition
The course this year, even with extra play, is in great condition. Fairways are well maintained and the greens roll true. Overall I would say the entire experience was good.
Fun course!
Nice mix of open, slopey fairways and tight tree lined target golf off the tee. Longer hitters will find that irons off many tees are sufficient. There was evidence of a recent verti-cut in the greens, which were soft after heavy rains the previous week. Many ball marks late in the day. I look forward to playing again with more firm conditions, although 6100 yards off the back tees at par 71 ( with 2 sub 500 yard par 5s on the back) is a bit forgiving for longer hitters.
