Inaccurate Pricing
We have played this course many times in the past and with the exception of some poor fairway conditions during hot dry weather, it has been in good condition and enjoyable to play. The course was in good condition on this occassion too but we encountered issues with the cost of the round.
The course requires you to book your round through the Chronogolf website. We did this and were given the price for 18 holes with a cart both through Chronogolf and a confirmation email from the course. When we arrived, we were to that the stated price was for green fees only and did not include the cost of the listed cart. Neither Chronogolf or the course would honor the confirmed online price so BEWARE. The price given on the website may not be honored at the course.
TLC Needed
This course has an interesting layout which includes elevation changes and water. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were well maintained but the bunkers have been completely neglected. They have brand new carts that are a pleasure to drive. They have increased their rates this season that while not completely unreasonable are a little high for this course. The clubhouse and restaurant are top notch.
Best golf course amenities in the Lambton Shores area
Good condition for this time of year.
Great value for the money.
The work in opening up and cleaning out of brush and
trees will make it even better next season.
Great Condition
Played here a few times over the years. Just played and course was in unbelievable shape. Fairways. Greens. Friendly staff. Excellent food. Great Rate on golfnow. Will definitely return.
A Conundrum
Fairways great, greens awesome, but tee boxes terrible. They've also done a wholesale change in the hole routing, so my Garmin watch was useless and with no 200 yard markers, yardage was often a guess, especially when not dead centre in the fairway.
Baked and Burned
The greens and bunkers were in good shape and well cared for. The rest of the course burned and baked. This course does not have enough water to irrigate the fairways so they're at the mercy of the weather. They have excellent facilities and the staff are friendly and courteous. To qualify my 'refer my friend" selection. I would recommend it early in the season but would not send a friend there under its current condition.
Only one issue
Several of the tee boxes were torn up but the rest of the course was in great shape. The patio was open, the patio staff were friendly and efficient.
Great Value
The course is in excellent condition. It has a fun layout that is moderately challenging. The only criticism is that they have no dividers in the carts during covid.
Never disappoints
The greens and fairways are in remarkably good condition considering how early it is in the season. This course will only improve as the season progresses.
Unbeatable value
Great condition, and friendly staff makes this course one of the best values in all of Ontario! A good mix of some easy a very tough holes for all levels.
Best in the area
We have been renting a cottage in Grand Bend for the last couple of years and can always count on Widder for the best best for your time and money.
From the time you pull in and check in the staff is friendly and helpful.
Course conditions impressed me with the lack of rain we have had this summer. The renovated bunkers were excellent to play out of.and greens held and rolled nicely.
All around well earned 5 stars, no complaints here, we'll be back and playing again this week and for years to come.
Thanks for great vacation memories Widder Station.
Course was in great condition
Course in great shape staff very friendly resturant and clubhouse was emasculate.
Terrific golf course
First time playing Widder Station so I took a cart but otherwise it would be a fine course to walk. This is a really terrific golf course, probably the best bang-for-your-buck, especially at GN Hot Deal prices. Great variety and challenge, fast greens which took the break out of a lot of putts. Some blind shots and many opportunities to get your balls wet. Strategic shot-making is critical on a few holes. Overall, A++. Will golf here again when I am in the area.
