Six Foot Bay Resort Golf Club

About
Situated along the shores of Buckhorn Lake, Six Foot Bay Resort & Golf Course sprawls across a lush and colorful landscape. It is one of the Kawarthas hidden gems. Many locals consider it to be one of the most challenging courses in the area. The golf course's design closely follows the natural features of the terrain. It is a tight layout that requires thoughtful course management. Water hazards come into play on half of the holes and there are bunkers strategically placed along the greensides and a few of the fairways. The course is notable not only for its challenging design but also the immaculate conditions. Opened in 1981, the resort has been owned and operated by the same family that has owned the land since the 1940s.

Reviews
resort golf
nice track, great staff. we had a nice lunch on the patio before the round. place is in great shape very tight with fast greens
Great Course
I have not played this course in a few years even though I have always rated it the best in the area. Once we finished the round we decided we need to make this a regular place to go even though it is a little bit of a drive. The course is challenging and well maintained with all the details taken care of.
One of my favourites
Six Foot Bay has always been the top of my favourite list. Unfortunately playing so early in the year the course was not up to its usual standard. I found the fairways were not as well manicured. Greens were in good condition. Overall though had an enjoyable day with my buddy,
Great course for the money.
Had a great day with my two boys. The course was relatively challenging and not busy at all. Great course to play while up North on vacation. I will definitely be back.
The Gem of the Kawarthas
I have played most all of the golf courses in the Kawartha area and without a hesitation I believe Six Foot Bay to be the best laid out and beautiful course in the area. The attention to details is appreciated and it impossible to have a bad round if the score is bad the scenery is beautiful. Recommend this to anyone.
Great Course
Very nice course and restaurant. Enjoyed every hole. Location is beautiful. Had lunch on the outdoor patio.
Six foot bay
Best course in the Kawarthas, a hidden gem.
I have played here many times. Fairly easy front 9, but killer back. Lots of ponds in play particularly 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16.
Too long off the tee for ladies, but they are rebuilding some tees closer to the fairways.
Great Value
This course is a little resorty in some spots but in great condition and fantastic value.
The course has beautiful scenery.
The course has beautiful scenery, with lots of trees and water. Most of the holes were a pleasure to play.
Great value for the money as well as many challenging holes
Have always found Six Foot Bay Golf Course to be well maintained and many challenging holes, especially the par 3's. Very scenic and pleasing to the eye where the Owner has added some decorative stone and flower features at the T-Blocks. Challenging length on many of the par 4 holes for the advanced golfer. Will be back again to play in the near future. Great value for a round of golf.
Nice course awful management.
Loved playing the course. Bad review comes from staff treating employees unfairly and mean. Witness to managers belittling staff and making them feel "worthless" as my server mentioned to me.
Great start for 2015
Never played this course before & we'll be back. Several holes were a definite challenge . Considering being the middle of April, it was in excellent shape. Thanks to GolfNow we got a bargain as well!
This course is in better shape right now then some courses where all last year Love it
Best shape course around . Good service . Cool club house . Best off all worlds there . Thanks six foot keep up the good work
Nice course, management awful
Let me start off by saying this course is extremely nice, and it is a challenge to play. I sincerely enjoyed my time on the actual course.
However when it came to my 'clubhouse' experience I was sincerely blown away - and not in a good way. The way the upper management treated the female staff inside the proshop/restaurant was in my opinion despicable. I was witness to the owner berating a member of the staff, asking her if she was stupid, why she would do something like she did and that if she did not smarten up there were plenty of people willing to take her place. This made me uncomfortable because the whole restaurant could hear the conversation. I talked to the female staff member and she said that sort of conduct was regular and that wasn't even the worst. Nobody should be treated the way I saw that girl treated and because of that my group, who have been travelling to the resort for years will not be returning.
gorgeous fall weather
wish that my shots were as great as the fall foliage but the course was in great condition and except for 5 mins of wet the weather excellent.
wet
Played on a wet windy day. Had to stop 3 times to let showers pass. Got a hot deal from Golf Now but cost of cart, at course $32, pushed the price up considerably. The course has a fall special on but it apparently does not cover carts.
The course is always beautifully maintained
The course was in great shape. The distance of the fairway from the tee block was sometimes a bit long and difficult to reach. This leads to a bit more slow play if the player can't hit out of the longer grass.
It's such a great place!
I've never been disappointed by a a day at Six Foot Bay! Bring your game!
!st Time at Six Foot Bay
The course was more difficult than I expected. To be fair I'm not a good golfer so I lost too many balls. Overall the round was really good, except the score.
A definite must play.
This is one of my favourite courses to play. The course is always in great shape. Challenging course for all skill levels.
