Sometimes it takes a long time
As a public course accessible to the everyday golfer, you cannot beat Lakeview. Old school parkland layout, great greens, however they have been little fuzzy lately. Pro shop staff are great, however not really a stocked pro shop, they just sell balls, gloves and tees.
What will get you is the 5 or 5.5 hour rounds. No one is ever moved ahead regardless of how slow they play. Watch out for the beginners just"having fun", balls will be flying everywhere.
They really need to address this issue.
My first
I learned the game on this course some 50 years ago. They had a junior program back then that cost us $1.50 to play on Monday & Friday mornings.... even Golfnow can't compete with that price.... The course was in great shape, staff very friendly....My only complaint is the pace of play, this course should never take over 5 hours to play, as there are not a lot of hazards in play. The rough will make your next shot a little tougher but it is not long enough for one to lose your ball. The course does not have a lot of long par 4's so the pace should have been better.
If I have only 1 round left to play, and I hoping Friday wasn't it, Lakeview would be on the top of my List!
Ps I would Play this course more often but I live 3 hours away and hate driving in the GTA as too many idiots want me not to arrive.
Lakeview in very good condition
golf course in excellent condition.. fast greens and well maintained. very challenging course with good shot making required on each hole .. pace of play was good an we were a 3 some ...no delays on any hole
Great Muni
Love this course. It's convenient and has some of the best greens around. Not very long but good challenge.
Medium
The course is a little over priced and it needs more early morning tee times available for golf now cutomers ,,
Great shape
Even with the lousy weather we have had in Toronto the course was in great shape. The fairways hard and the greens were fast and true. Walked the course and no soggy areas. Great day even if a little humid.
MY ONLY ISSUE WAS WITH THE SLOW PLAY AND NO ONE REALLY SEEMS TO CARE
Worth the fee and definitely will come back to play again.
Worth the fee and definitely will come back to play again.
Great tee off
Got on the course just before five. Was wide open. Had the entire course almost ourselves. The recent rain has made the greens and course really lush but some water pooling still that will drain.
Love playing this course after work. Got the round done in 4hrs.
May Golf
After a cool and wet month the course conditions were ideal. Fairways and greens were perfect and even the rough, which can be sparse was filled in. Pace of play was a bit slow. Marshall is useless and there were a number of guys playing off of blue tees that politely should have been moved up. Clubhouse crew was great and even lent me a putter, since my son "borrowed" mine without letting me know. The putter did its job and I broke 90 on a challenging day. My wife played red tees and found it a balanced challenge and enjoyable.
Great old style course
The course was in great shape and for a Saturday morning tee time was fairly quiet. As a result pace of play was great with no waiting nor having a group right behind us. While the course has a couple of quirky holes it is a great old parkland golf course that the city keeps well maintained.
rushed on
2nd time I have been rushed to play before my actual tee time at this course.
didn't have any chance to warm up - even though I arrived 45 minutes early. probably my own fault somehow. otherwise a very good experience.
