Not terribly long, the greens can be difficult
Lots of history at the course (2 canadian opens nearly 100 years ago), but not as nice as the city of Mississauga's other course - Braeben. It's pretty hard to get a decent deal on a tee time here in prime season; and I wanted to know why.
A lot of the price of this course comes from the convenience of it's proximity to the city. Fairly flat and straight. Greens weren't ideal (punched and sandy) but it was early may '16.
Great course close and reasonably priced
Best course closest to the downtown that is public and challenging.
Always enjoyable
A good level of challenge and very pleasant to walk.
Lakeview Review
Course is looking in good shape so far. Went out May 14th and some changes have been done to the course in the past year. A couple of trees are out of the way/bunkers filled in.
Always a fun local course that proves to be challenging. Look for hot deals on golfnow and will definitely be worth your time.
Nice course close to city
This is a nice course that is easy to get to. I would say it is deceptively challenging, needing to select the right club, either at tee off, or for the approach shot.
Greens, greens, greens!
This is normally an awesome course to play but I just don't understand why it's open right now with the greens in this condition. If you're desperate and well practiced putting on sand you'll enjoy this course right now.
Nice course
Lakeview is a nice course with a very odd hole. Greens were a little rough but it's early. Round was almost 5 hours. Way to slow when half the guys were in carts.
Decent hit!!!!
Played here a few times ,, decent lay out for a short course,, found the course playable in terms of condition,, green though maybe two weeks away yet!!!
Lakeview April round
It was a breezy but sunny afternoon. It's still early in the season, so the greens were slow and the fairways fairly bare (so lots of roll). The pace of play was excellent and the staff were great.
Great track in great condition
First time playing this course and it is an instant favorite. Holes 5, 6, and 7 prove to be a very difficult series of holes that will challenge any golfer.
Fairways are wide enough to make it not too punitive for a mishit.
Hole 12 is surprisingly difficult par 4 which requires you to hit onto a very elevated green.
Good variety of hole types. Definitely looking forward to playing again.
Nice to get out in November
There was a frost delay so we were backed up. Starter managed to sort some twosomes to foursomes and he put a threesome behind us. They were idiots. They were in the parking lot yelling at us on the tenth green that we were two holes behind and we could see the group ahead walking up the 11th fairway. Three times we actually y caught up and waited for the group ahead to tee off. We were teeing off on the 11th when they drove in front of us and stopped and yelled at us some more.. It took them longer to get ready to leave than it took us to play a hole. We never saw anybody behind us the whole back nine so that was good they left. Anger issues there.
The greens were fast. The company in our put together group was great. Front desk staff not very warm and fuzzy. Starter was good.
Slow play
7 hr rounds are not fun...too many people on the course...
Too bad because the course is in great shape, would have been nice to finish
Has its Quirks
Been a while since I played this course, it was in really good shape tee to green, and the traps are outstanding with beautiful white sand - best I have seen all year. The front 9 is quite tight, expect someone playing off your fairway on all most each hole. Heads up a well, as a few holes have tee boxes behind the green from the previous hole. The biggest quirk is #12, you have to layup off the tee, then hit ~100 yards 30 yards up to the green - very odd. There is a family of 5 foxes that roam the course freely - very cool !!
Beautiful
what a great course. The greens were one of the top I have ever played. Well maintained and challenging as well. For a course built in 1907, this rivals many of the courses created today. Highly recommended. A gem in the city!
Great staff but course is okay
It would be nice to buy snack etc on the course. People brought their own booze and food on the course and littered. I was picking up garbage on the greens.
Nice course, Great Location!
This course is great value for money and it's location is fantastic for getting to from downtown Toronto. Course is well maintained and is fun to get out to. This isn't a high end course but its a city course that is relatively inexpensive and does what it needs to well
Conditions Excellent 5.45 hrs to play 18 holes on cart!
Conditions were excellent, weather perfect, but they had no Marshall in sight, and two carting groups combined ahead of us to play as a 7-some and it took us 5 hrs and 45 mins to play the course due to them. We were carting as well.
Lakeview Golf Course
As this was first time at this City course, it was extremely tight and the designer should have consider this. Two holes, 10 & 11 are played over the driveway into the facility. We were almost hit 4 times by the group behind us, not there fault entirely, its the layout of the course.
I won't recommend this course.
The snack bar apparently closes at 3pm.
Good Couse
This course is well maintained and challenging. It was a Saturday afternoon and considering that pace of play was good. Course marshals were present and kept things moving. cart girl made several rounds, all staff were welcoming.
