Solid course conveniently located 10 minutes from Toronto
Historic course with a number of challenging holes. Not particularly long even from the blue tees, but there is enough variation to make an interesting round (the creek & landing area @ #8, the 210yds par 3 @ #9, the bell hole @ #12, the winding creek on the par 5 @ #15, and the signature finishing hole).
Best to go during the week or early in the season as the pace of play slows dramatically on weekends in June, July and August.
awesome
weather was not generous but so impressed how they maintain the whole packages
excellent
Great course and be patient
Great layout.
Old style golf and course management.
Be patient with wait 4 1/2 to 5 hrs
Slow play
Lakeview is a well kept course with an easy to reach location. The greens and fairways were in very good condition with the exception of ball marks left in many greens.
Unfortunately the course does not believe in advising players regarding pace of play. This opportunity to improve the player experience is missed both at the starter hut (no mention of pace), and on the course (a marshall was seen but never improved pace).
Additionally there was no mention of the absence of a drink/food cart missing that day so we were not able to purchase food or drinks on the course. There were water jugs dispensers on the course which is a plus vs. many other locations.
Lakeview mississauga
The course was in great condition, the employees were very friendly. The course marshal has to ask us to pick up play twice, but did it in a very non confrontational manner, everyone was ok with it.
Lakeview
Interesting old track worth playing! Pace of play is a bit of an issue as you would expect at a Muni. Course had just been aerated which was mentioned to me before I booked so no issue with that.
Good Course
The fairways and greens are in good condition for a public course. The back 9 is easier than the front 9.
Excellent conditions.
Lakeview provides a much better experience than one expects from a municipal course. It has an interesting layout and plenty of challenging holes. Course was in excellent condition and the pace of play was extremely good for a Saturday morning. Just a touch over 4 hours.
Great course
well manicured, fair but challenging, interesting history I heard about Sam Snead playing this course for the Canadian Open
Love this track!
Played in a chilly 10 degrees and some wind but still had a great time! Course was surprisingly busy considering the conditions, but the pace was consistent. Always worth it at a discounted rate!
poor pace - overbooking may be
We were a twosome and started play at 4:06PM on Saturday on June 04. The pace of play was so slow right from the beginning. We had to wait to T off 10 to 15 mins at every hole. By the time we finished front 9 we had spent close to 3 hours. That was ridiculous and frustrating. We kept complaining to the marshal but nothing happened. Looks like they over booked which caused this delay as I rode my cart 4 holes ahead to see what is happening. and everywhere the same situation. At least one team is waiting while the other is still T-ing off. Horrible.
To many people on the course!
We tee off at 4:09 and we paid to play 18. Finishing the 9 hole it was already 7pm as the pace of the play was beyond slow. We spoke to a marshall a couple times and nothing was ever done to help. Great course and rate but the course just puts to many golfers on it and not enough space inbetween.
We went and complain as we decided it is not worth playing 18 as it will be a 6 hour plus round and they gave us a free round another time.
Very nice people thats forsure just to bad on having to many people on the course
Lousy Customer Service
Disappointed. Use caution if booking as a single. I booked a tee time online the afternoon prior to my tee time the next day in the morning. I checked in at the pro shop and paid for my round. When I reported to the starter I was advised that a foursome was already booked during my reserved tee time and that I would be put on a waiting list instead of teeing off at my agreed upon tee time. The pro shop blamed GolfNow for the mix-up noting that they don't accept single bookings via GolfNow, which is false given this is not the first time I booked online via GolfNow at Lakeview. After receiving lousy customer service Lakeview refunded me. I called GolfNow and they made things right. GolfNow gets a passing grade for Customer service; Lakeview a failing grade.
Not terribly long, the greens can be difficult
Lots of history at the course (2 canadian opens nearly 100 years ago), but not as nice as the city of Mississauga's other course - Braeben. It's pretty hard to get a decent deal on a tee time here in prime season; and I wanted to know why.
A lot of the price of this course comes from the convenience of it's proximity to the city. Fairly flat and straight. Greens weren't ideal (punched and sandy) but it was early may '16.
Great course close and reasonably priced
Best course closest to the downtown that is public and challenging.
Always enjoyable
A good level of challenge and very pleasant to walk.
Lakeview Review
Course is looking in good shape so far. Went out May 14th and some changes have been done to the course in the past year. A couple of trees are out of the way/bunkers filled in.
Always a fun local course that proves to be challenging. Look for hot deals on golfnow and will definitely be worth your time.
Nice course close to city
This is a nice course that is easy to get to. I would say it is deceptively challenging, needing to select the right club, either at tee off, or for the approach shot.
Greens, greens, greens!
This is normally an awesome course to play but I just don't understand why it's open right now with the greens in this condition. If you're desperate and well practiced putting on sand you'll enjoy this course right now.
